Lunch: chicken 'roasted' in pressure cooker plus veg. Got two broccoli heads plus a couple of smallish caulis to be picked, plus seemingly endless amounts of cabbage. I keep giving cabbage away but you'd never know... Does cabbage freeze well? I'm guessing not terribly.
Supper: spiced carrot and apple soup.
Bread of some variety. Made white rolls yesterday and frankly, though the colour and texture were spot on, the flavour was a bit lacking. Might try some French almost-granary-like flour to make some more today and see how they go.
More of the gammon joint I cooked yesterday along with homemade Waldorf salad, potato scallops and the leftover couscous with roast vegetables. Assorted pickles and chutneys.
Roast chicken breast on the bone, roast spuds, steamed carrots from the poly tunnel, steamed frozen peas, and 2 fried eggs for her indoors who doesn’t want any chicken
Steak with mushrooms and a lot of peas, sweetcorn and bearnaise sauce for lunch and pasta salad with cajun chicken for supper, which will also be my lunch for two days. Salad leaves from the greenhouse
Yesterday's steak , once defrosted, turned out to be stewing steak.
So I made a hotpot with a pastry topping.
(Finished off our final carrot. They did well last year!)
So , tonight will be finishing off yesterday's food.
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Omelette (probably ham, cheese and mushroom), a few chips, peperonata out of the freezer, peas, onion rings and the remnants of yesterday's Waldorf salad. Maybe a slice of bread to make a sneaky chip butty if I've got room.
