  • Lambs liver and boiled spuds on top of leaf salad with sun dried toms, olives and herby garlic croutons.
That finishes off our own potatoes.

    • Sorry, all change from plans:
Lunch: chicken empanadas (a bit like a very flat pasty) and salad.
Supper: salad followed by sausage and saffron risotto.
Living in north-east Spain, where the sun is too hot, the rain too torrential, the hail too big, the wind too windy and the snow too deep.

      • Minced beef stirfry with lots of veg and pilau rice.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                      • Goodness but I'm going to have to up my game. It's not the usual friend up the valley. We now have an Italian friend with restaurant training in residence. His chilli con carne (with dark chocolate) was the best I've ever had. Managed only to have one medium-sized helping...

So lunch: mushroom omelette and salad, I think.
Supper: crespelle stuffed with romanesco and mató (like ricotta), sliced oranges in muscovado sugar and rum syrup.
Not sure about the crespelle, but no spinach and loads of romanesco...
