  • Accidentally had lunch out in IKEA

We’d decided just to have a quick drink before heading home, then noticed they had a half price offer on hit lunches, today. Couldn’t resist

A light salad. For supper with some bread and butter

    • Very odd lunch today: M&S kipper fillet, salad and an apple.

There's still half a roast chicken left, but don't think I'll want much if any.

      • Leek and potato soup tonight. I'll probably get vichyssoise for lunch tomorrow.
Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

            • I'm about to look what I've got in the freezer, but it may end up being naked beans and cheese on toast

              • For a change I know exactly what I fancy tonight. Bacon (smoked streaky), and scallop (just the little, frozen bay ones) risotto with probably some peas and sweetcorn thrown in.

                Peaches (tinned), and cream.

                • Well, I was thinking of biscoff chocolate lollies for pud, but it looks like they got delivered to GF by mistake

                  Fresh peaches it is then….

                    • Randomly I noticed some bigger than usual cardoon flower heads today, and thought I'll give those a try - what's the worst that can happen if I prepare them like artichokes
(yes I know that's not the part of the cardoon one usually eats...)

                      • Nibbles of olives, baby tomatoes and cubes of cheese.

Cheese and onion crispbakes, little roast potatoes and some kind of salad, maybe Waldorf as I've got some grapes that want using up.

Some sort of jelly or milk jelly and fruit.

Actually not bad, I may cook them again. I'm wondering if the plant (blown in from my neighbour but there are also lots of artichokes in the vicinity) is a cross. The flower heads seem bigger than the usual cardoons, still spikey but not as much.
