  • Well, someone who shan’t be named, suggested sausage baguettes seeing as we were nipping to a local vide Grenier.
    That certainly got the cogwheels and digestive juices going… but there wasn’t one there…onlupy in a temporary fairground nearby and I wasn’t that desperate to queue up in a noisy fairground…

    So , we came home starving…easily rectified by a chestnut and squash soup with bread.
    The hole has been filled, but not enough so as to put us off our salad later on.

          • I've got no inspiration. The fridge is quite empty as the grory hop is due tomorrow.

            So far I've considered fish pie, omelette, quiche, fish fingers, bacon and egg or fish and chips from the chippy. Nothing is tempting my taste buds yet.

            There's some trifle left over for dessert.

              • I have eventually made a decision and got some scallops out of the freezer.

                We'll have scallop risotto with spring onion, peas, sweetcorn and my own preserved lemon. Obviously lots of parmesan and garlic too.

                Trifle.

                • BBQ it is. Chicken and pork steaks…some for tonight and some for tomorrow.
                  Salad with sweetcorn and new potatoes.

                        I've ordered melon and bananas in my online shop. We'll have one or the other of them if they're ripe. If not it might just have to be the Biscoff ice cream lollies.

                              • Corned beef crispbake, corn on the cob, and lots of ratatouille.

                                I love ratatouille in any shape or form. I usually make extra in Summer and freeze it for Winter. I had an idea💡yesterday. I wonder if ratatouille, mixed with homemade chicken stock and blended, would make a nice soup? I intend finding out in the near future.

                                Dessert will be the last of the little Black Forest Gateau that somehow sneaked into my grory hop and then refused to go into the freezer but insisted on being defrosted yesterday. It's not bad.
