  • I have got as far as a raw chicken leg which I took out of the freezer last night. I boiled twice as many small Charlotte potatoes as I expected to eat last night, thinking that tonight I would either slice the other half up and fry them or make potato salad. However I scoffed the lot last night!!

I'm now trying to decide between garlic bread and salad OR mashed potatoes, veg of some kind and gravy OR couscous and roast vegetables.

    • My usual Saturday night dinner...Chicken curry or stirfry with rice.
Cheese and crackers with a glass of red.

Not a pudding lover but somehow I'm fancying that. I have discovered a banana loaf hiding in the freezer. I think I'll defrost it, or, if I can, cut it in half while it is frozen, and defrost half. I could fancy a slice with ice cream, as opposed to butter.

                • I've got loads of veg for a stir-fry but not sure what to add as a protein. Could cheat and turn it into a fasolakia with mangetouts rather than beans... That feels a bit like cheating though.

                  • I've some sausages in the fridge so I think a green salad with them and some grains/rice and even a tomato and fresh basil salad

                    • I was going to go shopping but I've changed my mind. I need to use some things out of the freezer. I've decided on cod in batter, new potatoes with butter and either salad or peas and carrots.

The banana loaf actually cut in half with a bread knife while still totally frozen. I had visions of having to attack it with the meat cleaver.

Therefore banana loaf with butter or warmed up with ice cream.

                          • Large salad, homemade mayonnaise, small pork pie, a few cocktail sized sausage rolls and leftover potatoes sliced and fried.

A can of Speckled hen, just because I fancy it.

Maybe a magnum type lolly or some banana loaf.

                            • Can I join you, GF? That sounds absolutely perfect... I have no idea what we're going to eat. There is plenty of food in the house, I just can't envisage turning any of it into a meal on a plate.
