      • We're off up the valley for supper at M's tonight. He recounted the menu at some point today, but too many items to remember.

A crate of wine sounds good, CG. I might put that on the menu for tomorrow!

        • It was lovely and warm today , although I couldn't get stuck into gardening as such I did a little sit on a chair and weed behind a low wall.

          • I did have some toast, chicken liver pate, and a bit of salad at lunchtime but tonight I just didn't fancy anything. My original plan was smoked mackerel and salad.

I ended up having a bowl of cornflakes with milk.

                      • M's last day for this visit. So confit de canard, fennel and apple with a bit of cheese, a broad bean stew (which he's bringing) and perhaps some baked sweet potato wedges.

                          • I may have something later but I have just had homemade quiche followed by hunks of three different types of cake at my nieces and I am full.

                              • I've taken a few slices of smoked bacon out of the freezer ready for a bacon, or bacon and egg sandwich later.
