  • Padrón peppers for nibbles, Confit de canard, stir-fried veg and, at Mr Snoop's request, hasselback potatoes. Chocolate and cherry brownies for afters.

I ought to make some bread but can barely be bothered. Feels like the above is more than enough on a hot day.

    • Smoked haddock tonight. I think I'll poach it in milk. Potatoes dauphinois, carrots, french beans and a dollop of leftover aubergine parmigiano.

In theory banana splits for dessert. In reality if the Biscoff ice cream lollies waylay me on the way to the fruit bowl, I won't be too upset and I'll probably make the bananas into banana loaves in a couple of days when they are really ripe.

      • I have absolutely no idea, but it should include our freshly dug new potatoes!

            • Eaten early as we were starving!

Fresh garden peas instead of salad. Yum

                Banana split type creation.
I saw another Raymond Blanc recipe on tv,I made it last year & am waiting for my pears to make again - pear & blue Stilton cheese puff pastry. Caramelise the pear slices in brown sugar in a pan then pile onto puff pastry squares, any size you want, bake till pastry browns, when cooked put on a plate & add some little chunks of Stilton all over the pear

                  • Its delicious,I didn’t put enough pear on though,it needs layering on because of the puff pastry ratio,I did take a photo but you can see it’s lacking the pear,I was trying to make too many

                        • JJ…that sort of reminds me of a variation of a tarte tatin but cooked fruit side up , then sprinkled with the cheese.
I bet it would be lovely cooked like small tatins inverted then served with the cheese. Yum!

                              • I've just got some smoked mackerel out of the freezer to make smoked mackerel pate with the ricotta cheese that wants using up. I think we'll have pate, pork pie, cheese and chutney with a big salad and either crusty bread (if I go to the bread shop) or garlic bread (out of the freezer).

We'll probably have the other half of a pineapple we started yesterday. (All the Biscoff ice cream lollies are now eaten. However I 've just put two more boxes on the list for tomorrow's grory hop. Even better they are still half price.)
