Something similar here Snoop!
Pork chops with a creamy apple and onion sauce ( very Norman apparently) with mashed spuds and broccoli.
I do rather like the idea of Yorkshire pud with it …
Feijoa???…as in the fruit? Never even heard of that before
What on earth do they taste like?
If so…it makes my Clementine sound downright boring!

No, definitely feijoa. I bought them from some youngsters that have set up an organic veg delivery company near us. They've been trying out exotic stuff, but not much of a market for it by the look of it, as it's listed one week, only to vanish thereafter. They had finger limes one week and I very nearly bought some but couldn't use them at the time. Wish I had got them because they've never reappeared.
The feijoa were actually grown nearby(ish), but in a much warmer spot than here. They tasted like a mixture of Bramley apples and kiwi fruit. A bit tarter than I was expecting. Good, though. Texture like a firmish pear. But these people sell excellent kiwi fruit and I'd probably much rather have them. And I'm not much of a kiwi fruit fan, so to say theirs are good really is saying something.
Citrus season has started here and the mandarines are fantastic. Nothing boring about clementines.

Tonight was venison steak with mushroom cream sauce and Anya potatoes.
Marinate it for a few hours and it comes out like fillet, but with more flavour.Last edited by Mark Rand; 30-11-2025, 10:07 PM.Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

Grory hop delivery tomorrow, so today will be either something out of the freezer or, if I dither much longer, omelette, or homemade soup. The obvious freezer choices are fish pie made with frozen fish, meat pie made with frozen cooked beef, fish fingers, or scallops.
Still no nearer a decision

That looked delish Mark!
That reminds me…we have some reindeer and elk in the freezer which needs eating…. I guess they will need a bit of research to make sure they are tender when cooked.
Tonight is a salad with beef and lentil lasagne
