  • I did extras last night to have leftovers today, but the fennel was so good there's next to none of it left. Mr Snoop hasn't been much of a fennel fan till now. Looks like he's a convert.

    Anyway, pork chop with traybake romanesco, sprouts and carrots plus a tiddly sample of fennel.

    Here's the recipe, though I didn't follow it to the letter by any means. Used a few rashers of bacon instead of sausage, didn't use almonds as Mr Snoop doesn't like the texture of nuts and used a French cheese like camembert instead of taleggio. I bought the book. It's utterly amazing.

                      • Endive, pear and blue cheese salad followed by fried celeriac steaks with citrus segments and a spicy topping. Recipe calls for grated fresh horseradish, fat chance of me finding that in Spain. So I'm going to try daikon instead. Kiwis for pud.

                        A bit fancy for a Tuesday but if I don't use the endive soon, they'll disappear into a puddle of mush, ditto the pears. Plus, not actually a huge amount of effort by the look of it except for the spicy topping.

                        Now need ideas on what to do with the rest of the daikon... All suggestions gratefully received.

                            • ^I imagine so. I should be able to order a root from France next spring (I hope). I like horseradish sauce, so probably worth giving it a try.
