    • Good morning all. We have had rain forecast a few times but it never arrived, the ground is do dry and the water butts are empty.
CG, hoping you get good news from your results today. The waiting is the worse part.
Nicos, have a chillout day and recharge the battery's.
My OH overdid it yesterday while I was out, painting the shed and up the ladder to fix some fencingl..he forgets he is old, ended up in bed at 10.30.
      Have a good day all.

      • Morning all.

We had a tiny bit of rain early on, so little it dried up almost before it touched the ground. When I look at the Met weather map for the week, it shows plenty of rain, but most of it swerving around me. years ago I don't remember ever hankering after a good rain storm. How times change.

Good wishes to everyone awaiting test results, hope all turns out good.

I was looking for Chiltern Seeds today, and another site popped up in goggle - chiltern seeds direct. My browser security advised it was probably unsafe. I checked the actual Chiltern Seeds site and could find no reference to the other, and on amazon their amazon link is a totally different named company so I wonder if they are just piggy-backing on Chiltern's good name.

        • Good morning all.

Good luck with your results, CG.

We seem to have had a small amount of rain at some point in the night, but more is desperately needed. It's sunny at the moment and 18°C.

I'm waiting for my grory hop to arrive. No substitutes, no short dates.

..... the grory hop has arrived and is packed away now. I think more coffee is now needed.

            • Afternoon

The rain stopped and we’ve been out for a stroll, it’s t-shirt and shorts weather now.

Plenty choices of tomatoes CG, me I just have Gardeners delight, Mini Bell and my favourite ones Black Cherry. Mini bell finished early this year not sure why though.

              enjoy your afternoon

              • Good afternoon, dry but breezy, had some heavy rain overnight, hopefully it stays dry for tonight, was out shopping this morning, then a quick visit to our friend before getting back home where I have been busy getting last minute jobs finished, which brings up a question, why is it called last minute when I have four hours to go🤔 . Was just back home when I received a phone call from the hospital to offer a date for my hand operation, unfortunately I couldn't take the date as daughter is on holiday then and I am needed to take grandson to his work , so got another date, 30th. September at 7.30, OH has told me to go out quietly GF re. the info about the Romans I suppose a sponge on a stick would be ok, though a lot would depend on the previous movement Need to get back out and make final preparations for this evening so have a good day and pass on the smiles

Not liking these darker mornings. I think sun is forecast this morning and rain this afternoon so will do some outdoor stuff.
Appt, still no answers but nothing showed up as yet, camera down next can't say I'm looking forward to that.
Brew anyone? Or is it a bit early?

                    • Morning CG and all.

Never too early for a brew, CG I don't like these darker mornings either as I'm a lark not an owl. Summer heat and winter light.

I'd best get on. I want to give a blanket chest a fresh lick of paint, and it's easier to do outside, so I need to do it before the forecast lunchtime rain.

                      Have a good day all.

                      • Mornin n’alln’all

Darn…did I miss out on a brew there?…oh well never mind - I had a really good sleep instead

We had a light drizzle yesterday - a promise of more to come today, so we need to get our sun shelter down.
It’s actually called an ‘event tent’ and has a very high UV resistance. Pity all the tabs and cords aren’t They had turned to powder when we put it up at the beginning of the season.

CG…I’m sort of relieved for you that you didn’t get a definitively bit of bad news…it means there is more chance still of good news x
No doubt it’s still stressful..and prolonged. Sorry you are going through this x

Painting MH?…Hope it dries before the rains start!
I have managed to get all our coats washed and line dried and also all the sofa covers . I often leave it too late and have them hanging around the house drying for days…I’m feeling quite chuffed with myself that I’ve actually been organised this year!

Right well…a quick scoot around the Vine, then I best crack in with some ironing Needs must.

Enjoy your day peeps…let’s keep sharing those lovely smiles…
And speaking of which…what on earth has Jack been up to to wind the smiles up so much this morning….talk about mischievous…they’ve been sprinkling dead leaves all over my driveway

                        • Morning

We've also got rain/thunder due this afternoon MH we i've been out in the garden earlier.

CG I'd count that as good news hopefully you'll have the same results with the camera test.
I've noticed some seeds seem to keep for ages well apart from parsnips I've got lettuce seeds I've used for years. Those 3 tomatoes i grow are all from saved seeds

                          More ironing Nicos

                          • Well Bren….I’ve avoided it so far this morning …starting to feel guilty at avoiding it for this extra half hour…tsk.
Got to keep positive….the season ends next weekend, and when that’s done I can hide the iron and board fir a few months…

                              • Thanks you're keeping me positive.

I've just stumbled upon a YouTube about sowing seeds in the cold (perennial) . Decided to take some cuttings today, have ordered some envelopes for seed collecting too.
