    • By Jiminy, you're a welcome sight, CG. And not just for the trays! Lovely to see you back.

      Hope you're doing well.

      • Morning all.

A still and cloudy start to the day, for which the firemen fighting the big wildfire some 30 km from us will be grateful.

And all peaceful at home. Mr Snoop has gone into the village early for some errands and to drop M off at the coach stop, as he's on his way back home. Jack is consoling himself over Mr Snoop's absence by snuggling into one of his fleece-style jackets. And I'm about to settle to some work. Wouldn't mind a bit of a nap already though...

        Have a great day, everyone.

        • Good Morning All The very thought of asbestos fills me with dread, it caused months of distress when it was found in my floor tiles after the flood

Hi CG, thanks for the tray. It's sunny here so washer is on and Lord Ginger is here requesting food. Have a good day

Crumpets?…did someone mention crumpets? Ooooh…yes please CG
And lovely to see you back! Gosh, I think we were chatting about cuckoos last time, so , a while indeed. Do hope all is OK with you ( my Mother Hen instinct frets when our regulars take a break from the Vine!)
You can have some of our heat…it hit 39C last time…and it’s back on the way up again!…don’t want to experience that again for a very long time.

Right…got tons to do at home today as OH wants to go out in the camper tomorrow- the Tours de France is passing through here and he wants to go and see it tomorrow after we’ve been to market and gone back to the huuuuge hypermarket there to exchange my new charger cable as we picked up the wrong one the other day
Have a great day ,keep smiling!

            • Good morning all.

It's a cloudy 19°C here at the moment, climbing up to 23°C later. I think the next "heatwave" is due to arrive tomorrow and last until next Tuesday.

Nicos, when the Tour de France passes through where you are tomorrow, are the roads closed for a minimum amount of time with no fuss (like when we once came across it somewhere remote in rural France) or are they closed for hours and hours and hours, like when the Tour disrupted Yorkshire a few years ago? A whole day's shutdown for something that is over in minutes certainly put a lot of people off ever wanting to have it here again .... apart from a few politicians and would be politicians who I am sure had their own dubious money grabbing schemes.

I have just spent an hour looking for a button. I knew that it came off my shorts a couple of days ago and I put it somewhere safe. I washed the shorts last night. This morning I decided to sew the button back on. My safe place is obviously too safe! As for my memory........

I never got to visit my brother in law yesterday as my Amazon delivery which was supposed to arrive by Royal Mail in the morning was several hours late. Hopefully I'll call round today.

              More coffee now I think.

              • Oh yes Cuckoos have fled again now. Saw a baby deer the other day whilst walking, it was with mum but wow so close. I had to scramble to grab the dog though. It was maybe a month old.
No news here, the cold start made germinating difficult , all slow tbh so was a bit fed up with gardening
Neighbours have plenty fruit so win win there so am here to look for ideas and going to get some cuttings off them. Mum is still waiting for initial appt and then await surgery appt
I'm being sent for CT scan for cough that comes and goes.

                • Apologies for being so forthright.
                  Never apologise for that Snoop!

I didn't mean to imply I was minimising the danger of asbestos.

To try to be a bit more succinct (which you'll all know I struggle with lol) - yes, report the suspected asbestos & persevere until someone takes appropriate action, but asbestos can't be conclusively identified by just looking at it & the necessary tests etc. are not likely to be completed quickly, so don't expect the outcome to be swiftly obtaining a workable plot.

Personally, if I believed there was asbestos anywhere on our site I wouldn't want a plot anywhere on it - ever. Added to the other negative experiences Carrie's had at the site in the past, it doesn't sound like a great place to be anyway, so I'd be quite happy to keep reporting etc. until the matter was appropriately dealt with - but it would be for the benefit of others as I wouldn't be comfortable doing any of my own growing there even after removal etc.

CG I hope there's some toast, crumpets or croissants left I've been in the garden so ready for my second mug of tea.

Good luck finding your button GF you don't want those shorts falling down

                        • I've just chased Lord Ginger out. After gently pawing my arm and rubbing his head on me, he had some biscuit treats and some chicken. When I went to stroke him he bit me!

                            • Good morning all, sunny here and it's 15 degs,
Just been watering the greenhouse plants before it gets any hotter.
Laundry of out, then some domestics.

Flo,, Lord Ginger is being pretty ungreatful, biting the hand that feeds him.

GF, whrn you stop looking for that button it will turn up.

CG, crumpets, if there's any left, thrn yes please.
                              Have a good dsy all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                              • Was it a 'love nip' FF? We've a tom that likes to do that to me (as well as headbutting me in the boob when I'm typing at the desk lol).

Lovely to have you back CG - you have been missed (& not only because of the goodies)

I'm proud to say that, possibly for the first time ever - I don't have enough washing to make up a full load! I guess I could go looking (get the nets/curtains/shower curtain down, stick the cat beds in etc.) but I'd rather feel a tad smug for a bit first

That always happens to me when I put something somewhere 'safe' too GF. We're still looking for an emergency foil tent I bought as a stocking filler for OH about 15 years ago - I know I didn't want him to find it before the big day but..... lol.

Jack sounds like he's doing really well Snoop
