  • Mornin n’alln’all
Another rubbish sleep …I do wonder if we’re taking it in turns to get a good night’s sleep
    Anyway…who fancies a brew?
Bramble…a rainbow?…how wonderful I do love seeing a rainbow. Not seen one for ages.

We had rain overnight, quite a lot infact, so that’s wonderful. My poor lawns are brown and crispy.

I was thinking that we need to buy a round bail of straw soon.( for winter mulching) The field will still be bone dry so it won’t get churned up like last year .

Let me know how you get on with the malt loaf Snoop…yum! Mine has already half gone…can’t see it lasting until weekend…ooops

Have a great day peeps…not seen those smiles yet Snoop - have they gone for a walk with you and Jack?

            • Morning all.

I think the smiles are taking the long way round today, Nicos, so they're probably going to arrive a bit late. Jack and I walk Monday, Wednesday and Friday with E and his dog (E thinks it would be too much for his dog to go out every day with Jack, as he's so energetic). And here at home we're confined to barracks by hunters. Pah!

Official weather warning not to go out unless absolutely necessary yesterday afternoon, so Mr Snoop's chair didn't get delivered. Fingers crossed it does today, though the sky looks a bit threatening.

I've just looked up malt loaf. Weirdly, it's recommended as a snack by the NHS apparently. I presume without butter... What do you guys eat malt loaf with? In my family, it was butter, so I've just continued the tradition. Do you eat it plain or with marmalade or jam?

              Have a great day, everyone.

              • Hope the chair arrives today. How is Mr Snoop?

Malt loaf-I've only known it as having butter on, lashings of it. Although I've also heard of having slice of cheese on like some do with Christmas cake.

I love Malt loaf, but I've only eaten store bought Soreen and I'm sure that's smaller than it used to be.

Flo our thunder storm didn't happen just a few showers during the day, so I ended up watering late evening.

                  • Morning all,had a busy few days, ref recling chairs, got ours from care co,it seems like the cheaoer ones are frames are bolted togetherbut the dearer ones are a solid strong welded frame, and your can tell the difference after a few years, the welded frame is sturdy, but the chair belonging to the suit is not,as for asembly, both came in 2 bits,a seat and a back,it just slots onto the seat,no bother at all,Jay i wish you all the best my friend god bless you,
Camera's,the worst part of the up one is the preparation for it,the down one i had twice, both times sedation, first time was ok,the second a few weeks ago,i felt it,but it was over before i knew it,sedation is given through a canular,as well as the spray, the things we go through,i hope your results come back good,it does have your inside churning around with thoughts,i feel so much better having the iron, have to get blood and water tested to see how things are next week, but still get marge simpson when i sing,a lot of the time and the coughing, sumat else to see what can be sorted,at leaste i now know is nothing sinister as the report says,so excelent,a friend of of mine is hoping to see santa clause this year,in so much pain, and is now involved with a hospis,it makes me feel bad for complaining about me,plus they are a lot younger than me,malt loaf,LD licks lips, the new lawn area just needs more seriouse raking about, then the turf can be laid, slabs now adjusted to suit my new layout,it has been realy hard graft landscaping it but well worth it,not done yet,but the bones of it are in place,i am deter..mined to have a garden,my veg growing space has been reduced,i do not have the energy to maintain a plot like i used to,my new man is my saviour, have a lovely day all

                    • Morning all.

Malt loaf.... with a thick layer of butter for me. I don't think the NHS would approve of mine at all. I know that I used to have a jar of malt extract in the cupboard that I used to use in some recipe or other, but I can't remember what. I'm wondering if it was for some kind of seeded bread that I used to make.

We did get a proper short shower here yesterday, rather than drizzle, but no heavy rain or thunder and lightening. A bit of a let down really.

I made aubergine parmigiano for our meal last night. I really enjoyed it. This made me think, yet again, about having another go at the Lebanese aubergine dip that I have tried to make, on and off, without success, for the last 40 years. I have already found a jar of (in date) tahini in the cupboard. There are so few ingredients other then aubergine and tahini that surely it can't be that hard to get it right. A bit like eating hummus in Greece or allioli in Spain, I never had a bad experience of moutabal in Lebanon. Best foot forward. I've added more aubergines to my next online shop which is due this morning.

I hope Mr Snoop's chair arrives today. How is he now? Is Jack giving him lots of cuddles?

We've got rain forecast for this afternoon so I've already got the washer going and hopefully I can get everything dry beforehand.

I need to visit my brother in law (I've ordered him some shopping in my grory hop) and call at the chemist's today.

I'd better go and put some more clothes on now, and at least brush my hair, before the delivery arrives. I don't want to scare the delivery boy to death.

                            • Just sitting down with a brew …and two thick chunks of Soreen covered with slices of butter! Yum. Never anything else…but I do love a nice piece of Lancashire/ Wensleydale/ Cheshire on my Xmas cake.

I’ve never made it either although Snoop and I did mention this last yearI think, but I never got around to making it

                              CG…crumpets?….oh, now you’re talking..yes please!
Drippy butter or peanut butter with banana topping….delish.

Darn. Anyone would think I have a sweet tooth

OH has been making Passata this morning, and I’ve cooked down several more kilos of apple for the freezer.
Not having a sweet tooth whatsoever……I’ve decided to make a steamed apple sponge pudding mmmmm…so that’s just steaming away…

                              • Good afternoon, a wet but reasonably warm day, the showers are short, sharp but heavy what you might call thunder rain though no thunder nor lightning.
Was awake at seven this morning but decided to have a further ten min as OH had been up earlier and had disturbed my sleep, half past eight we were awakened by daughter opening the bedroom door and asking if we were alright, the best ten minutes sleep I have had for ages dar was down to drop off the dogs as she would be out most of the day, anyway once we were up and had breakfast it was time to go out to the coffee morning, fortunately we managed to get in to the church hall just as a burst if rain started, then when coming away we had to,wait fir five miw or so till there was a break in the rain fall and I think thats what it will be all day heavy showers with short dry periods, so wont be doing much today, unless IH wants some housework done, than I will have quite a bit to do outside have a good day whatever the weather, try not to eat to much and to those who are licking lips abd having thoughts of malt loafs with butter etc. this could be the start of temptation, so put any thoughts of malt loaf out of your mind.
Isn't it funny how when someone say dont do something it makes things worse for you as said have a good day and find something to smile about
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
