    • Good morning all.
It's a beautiful sunny morning here.
      Off to my line dancing.
      Have a good day all.

      • Morning all.

Sorry to hear about your flowers, Geoff. Very frustrating.

Not getting very far very fast this morning. Mr Snoop has gone out to do a grory hop, I'm holding the fort. Dogs and cats are snoozing. I'm supposed to be busy, but can't get my mojo working today.

I've just measured one of the magnesium pills: 2.4 cm long, 1 cm across. We've tried cutting them in half, rary, but Mr Snoop finds them more difficult to swallow because of the sharp edge. I think powder might be the way to go.

No ironing whatsoever gets done here. I can't remember the last time I ironed anything, maybe 25 years ago for a wedding. One of the joys of living off grid - not enough power to run an iron. As for mess, Mr Snoop has tested my capacity for tolerating it to breaking point on numerous occasions...

        Have a great day, everyone.

        • Good morning.

I made more blackberry buns this morning so we're just having early elevenses as next job is the grory hop.

I would be very upset with that bouquet, Geoff. One of my sisters has sent me M & S flowers on a few occasions and they have always been excellent. I usually sent her a photo when I get them and another a week later.

No sun here today....so far. In fact it is COLD. 🥶

          • Forgot to say that I saw what I think was a small rat last night, or could have been a big mouse. I do hope there's not going to be an infestation again. It's over two years since they were under the shed. The new family next door have young children who make a bit of a mess. I can't see the state of it now because we had a six foot fence erected shortly after our neighbours of forty years moved out.

            • Good evening, had quite a busy day, first taking OH shopping then back to get grandson up out of bed, (one of his health problems is constantly tired) he sitting his O levels just now, schools are shut here today so he had to be up and ready for a taxi that would be coming to pick him up, made his breakfast for him then went a walk with the dogs, but I cut it short as I felt it was to warm for the older one to do a long walk, took them back home then waited for the taxi, which as I expected didn't turn up, so had to take him to school, not very happy with that, not the taking him over, with the fact that the taxi didn't turn up, if he had no means of getting to school, with no or limited bus service there is no way any child in our town would get to school on time as its over half an hour by bus, moan finished, beginning to think I am getting a bit intolerant of poor service, when in the past I would just have accepted it🤔
Once back home we had lunch then I was out to the garden, wasn't going to do much, but started to sieve some homemade compost, as i want some to plant my begonias in, I started at 1.30 and finished at 5.15, I still have some compost to sieve but with today's, work I finished with about 50kg. of compost, sore shoulders and ackiing legs, not sure what hurts the most, the shoulders the legs or the fact I might need someone to give a hand😞 Ah well tomorrow is another day, so will see what comes, I have just remembered I go to the surgery tomorrow for an mot, so I had better be in good order😁
Flo, I came, across an artical once where it was recommended to put a slice of onion down and replace ever two or three days at access points of rats, don't know if it works but worth trying as it wouldn't cost very much to do, if it works it would save you the stress that you had previously. Well I wish you all a goodnight and remember to pass on some smiles tomorrow 🙂🙂🙂
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

We've had rain the first in a long time it seems like, its given the garden much needed soaking.

Thats frustrating about the taxi Rary just thing you were around to take your grandson to school. Did they say why they didn't turn up?

                Enjoy your day.

                • Morning all.

Your taxi tale is a familiar story, rary. Very frustrating when people don't turn up when they're supposed to. The main anxiety in my mum's life is worrying about whether her carers will or won't turn up. Mostly they do, but the odd occasion when they're late or don't arrive is enough to make her fret every time.

Neighbour down the valley came round yesterday with a load of yogurts and kefir for us. I tried to keep at a distance, but he actually wants to catch Covid! It'll give him immunity, apparently. But why try and catch something that will give you immunity for when you catch it? Mad. I've still got eye problems and would much rather not have them. Fingers crossed I'm back to normal soon.

Will try and do a bit of gardening today. At least clear some more weeds. Other than that, paid work and a bit more kitchen clearance. Very exciting!

                  Have a great day, everyone.

I'll try the onion rary, thanks and I hope you've had words with the taxi company!
Not raining here yet bren, but cloudy. Hope it brightens as I am being taken to Wentworth today

                    • Good morning.

Yesterday evening when I was making mayonnaise to make into tartare sauce my trusty stick blender decided that it's end had come. Fortunately it had just about completed it's task. It's one of the most used items in my kitchen, either as a blender or whisk and so quick and easy to clean (turn on in a jug of soapy water). I have just spent an hour online looking for a replacement. I want one with whisk again as it is so handy for meringue or Yorkshire pudding but didn't want to spend a fortune as for bigger jobs I've already got a Kenwood mixer and a food processor. Tefal appear not to do them any more. I've eventually found one that I hope is going to be good at Argos. As our local Argos is in the city centre in a horrible location with only paid parking nearby I've arranged to pick it up at "Sainsbury's local" about ½ a mile away from where I live after 5pm today at no extra charge.

I hope it's as good as the Tefal was. I had that for at least ten years. It has blended gallons of soup, made pints of mayonnaise, vast amounts of milkshakes and whipped pints of cream and meringues.

Although the forecast is for sunshine and cloud today with a 3% chance of rain we must be the 3% as it has been drizzling all morning. Windy too. Where did the promise of Summer go?

                      Time for elevenses I think.

Thanks, Flo. Couldn't get things to work properly this morning. Anyway, deleted and sorted now.

Snoop you’re right it is mad to want covid hope he only gets a mild dose.

I’ve only had my stick blender for a couple of years not sure why I didn’t buy one sooner, it does get used a fair bit.

                          • I can't believe I've only ever used my stick blender for soup when it should have been obvious that it had many more uses, so thanks for that GF!

                            • Good afternoon a nice warm day today and not a cloud in the sky, got my M O T this morning and everything is the same as last year, though the nurse did say he thought I had grown a bit, but then he was looking at my stomach 😞 we then went to a GC for a coffee, OH said she needed to go and sit down so I finished up paying for the coffee and scones 😕 I will need to watch that in future. Once back home I spent the afternoon doing a bit of weeding and generally keeping out the way of housework, though I now need to go and prepare the tea, enjoy the rest of the day 🙂🙂🙂

The morning disappeared with a visit to the eye specialist
No rain here so watered all the newly planted out flowers.
Collected my grandson this afternoon and entertained him for the evening.
                                Where is the time going.
                                Have a good evening all.
