  • Good evening all.
Played pitch and putt as usual today.
It was really cold with the temp being just 12 degs.
We actually put the heating on last night
At least we had a dry day.

Lottie, good to hear things are moving along for you.

Snoop, looking forward to seeing a pic or two.

Have a good evening all and stay safe.

    • well I haven't been on here much for a while and thought maybe things that previously were causing problems had been sorted. I had typed a long long story of what I've been up to and it just disappeared!!! Crikey!! In the past much of a post would have been automatically saved but I just could not find anything. Grrrrh, Anyway, nuff said, I'm so disappointed there are still issues

          • Morning all.

Nice to see you back, AP. These days, a button to restore previously saved content should help in the situation you describe.

Chillyish night. Not as cold as forecast. But very windy. Temperature difference enough to make the dogs want to sleep indoors rather than out, and for the cats to want to sleep on the bed.

Fairly busy day ahead. So better get going. Have a good one, everyone.

            • Morning, some days when I go to post I have a yellow band across the screen inviting me to use or discard a previous message, of course it is never going to be there when you actually want it lol. We mods have asked admin for information, but at present none is forthcoming, we shall persist on your behalf, but making no promises.
Today has started quite autumnal, but pleasant and warmish, I have cut the grass yesterday, so today will be a day of leisure in the garden, this usually involves lunch on the move, a carrot or two here, maybe a strawberry and cob of corn raw straight of the plant...............................yummy.

              • Morning all.
Blue skies and fluffy clouds, looks like a pleasant day. Made some damson jam this morning before the wasps and bees were out of bed, so I could have the kitchen window open . all necessary domestics done, lunch prepped and ready to go, so the rest of the day will be a lazy one.

                Have a good Sunday everyone.

                  • Good morning. I haven't popped in for a few days as I've been helping a friend who was supporting her friend who's just lost her husband.

I loved the parrot story. I'd better warn my friend with the african grey. She's a bit of a technophobe but that doesn't mean she might not catch up at some stage.

Nicos, love what you've done. Those stairs are like the ones up to my bedroom. I have to go up and down mine (2x each time) carrying a dog as they're too scared of them to use them themselves.

My recently erected PT hasn't moved an inch in the winds nor have either of the fences.

Do you think we ought to warn Nanny Green about the Gardeners Rest before it opens. It might save some time in the long run.

I took what I thought was half a chicken out of the freezer yesterday. It's a duck. Also curry sauce. So it's curried duck for lunch today. That'll teach me to label things.

I actually have a day off today so I'm intending to catch up with some household drudgery and mow the lawn as long as the rain stays off.

                      • Please tell me the Gardeners Rest is a virus free pub JanieB although after 6 months of house arrest I may have lost the ability to socialise in person! Also suspect I have become a very cheap date

All this talk about food is making me hungry but still got things to do before the rain starts again, still got a pond to finish.

lots of sploshy sploshy going on here .

Hopefully the study will be finished today apart from new antique door handles ( yet to buy) and putting up of one shelf ( supports in the post) Very uplifting!
The new computer will stay in its box a while longer because of dust coming in from the lounge over the next few weeks.
                          Yup -very happy with it

yesterday evening I finely chopped up 2 kg of mixed garden veg to make piccalilli so that will be a tomorrow morning job as they are 'resting' in their salt..
I thought I'd make them a bit different...probably one more chillified than usual.

Last night at stupido'clock.fr Hibou brought in 3 pressies over a 4 hour period...one dead and the other two alive.
The alive ones each took almost an hour to catch as they whizzed around the bedroom hiding. No - we were not at all happy about it and may have taught her some new vocabulary
Boy did she enjoy playing hide and seek with us.
We managed to catch them alive and release them.Poor things.
Think we need to keep her in at nights now to stop this. She quickly adapts.Hunting is starting soon anyway and we don't want her out at dawn when the huntsmen are shooting.

Enjoy your Sunday peeps -see ya later!

So, we decided to make the most of it and we went out.
Went to an old haunt of ours which we havnt visited for years.
Brought back happy memories as we used to have a mobile home in the area.
Sat by the beach and had choc ices then had a lovely walk.
Hope everybody had a good day.
