  • Nicos, profiteroles! I'm practically drooling. Just not worth making for one person and they really taste far nicer eaten within a few hours of coming out of the oven. Filled with whipped (brandy) cream and served with warm chocolate sauce.😋

Roast chicken leg here. I'm still deciding between mashed potato, veg and gravy OR garlic bread and salad.

      • You are welcome!…they are actually from Lidl and rather yummy. I think there are three different types but the simple cream filled are certainly the best….but most probably nothing compared to GF’s homemade ones.

          • Last might ended up being roast chicken leg, mashed potatoes, carrots, beans and cauliflower with gravy.

Tomorrow will therefore be roast chicken leg, garlic bread and salad.

It could be a case of de-bone and make a lasagne or cook as is in a pasta bake, or perhaps a curry.....or...

                          • Ha!…my ‘diet trifle’ is basically sugar free powder jelly made up with left over juice ( from stewing plums and mirabelles etc for freezing)
Then I add stewed apple, and any frozen fruit needing eating up( I have a large chest freezer packed with our own fruit!)
Then I mix in 0% yogurt and leave it to set.
Served with Creme Anglais which has far fewer calories than yogurt or cream. Maybe with a tiny bit of grated dark chocolate on top.

Apart from not having cake in it, and it not looking at all pretty ,the flavour is pretty similar.
I’m not one at all for buying anything ‘diet’….. but this is an exception as the rest of the contents are healthy .

The fruits in this one are stewed apple, blackcurrants and rhubarb …and of course a couple of muffin blocks of bullace juice.

All the natural sugar in the fruit probably balances out the sugar free aspect of the jelly. Can’t stand the taste of the jelly on its own though!
Maybe I should experiment with gelatine instead?…. There’s a thought.
