  • Today I think prawn and scallop gratin with garlic bread.

I've been trying to think of something different for dessert. I'm considering pancakes with sugar and oranges. It's ages since we've had any pancakes (probably Shrove Tuesday) and Mr GF loves them.

      • We're on for Spanish beef, potato and pea stew courtesy of the neighbours. Broccoli on the side. Pud was going to be plum tart but probably yogurt with cherry jam in it.

                  • I think I've eventually decided on cod fillets in breadcrumbs, tartare sauce, new potatoes, and carrots and peas.

I'm also going to cook some "casserole steak" a.k.a. stew meat in the slow cooker this afternoon, to make a pie tomorrow I think.

                    • I've been struggling to think what to make for today until I remembered the slow cooker full of stew that I made yesterday.

I think some of it can go into a pie to have with mashed potatoes, roast butternut squash and French beans. The rest of the stew can be portioned into the freezer.

                      • Pork steak and tomato sausage, roast potatoes and carrots, sprouts. I've made an Apple pie, but will resist it until tomorrow when we'll have something lighter!

                        • No bloomin' idea.

I shall have to consult the oracle that is Mr Snoop, though sure as eggs are eggs he'll say something I haven't got. Which will be helpful as it will focus my mind on what I have got. And so I will arrive at a solution.
