  • Courgette and bean bake this evening.

    • I’ve been fancying a roast for ages and yesterday we found a Guinea fowl at the bottom of one of the freezers! Perfect

      So roast Guinea fowl with our own potatoes and french beans followed by a small side salad- followed by crumble. (Our plums, apples blackberries and blackcurrants.)

      Don't know why, but this morning I woke up with the feeling that Autumn is on its way…….Its still July for goodness sake!

      • ^That sounds nice, Bren. Any particular recipe or is it a bung-it-all in kind of job.

        We've got a shock to the system coming tonight: roast chicken. Been a while since we last had one. And been a long while since we had a meal based around meat.

          • I think tonight will be scampi, homemade tartare sauce, roast vegetables and couscous UNLESS we get delayed at my brother in law's medical appointment and the chippy is open when we are on our way home

            • I've some Toulouse sausage (not literally from Toulouse) and think I will cook with butterbeans, fresh tomatoes and basil, with salad.

                Sounds like you wouldn't be sorry for a delay at the hospital, CG.

                Having said it's been a while since we last had a meat-based meal, we've now got a few coming up as Mr Snoop bought some slices of what I think of as shoe-leather beef. So, I'll marinade it and we'll have it in a beef and broccoli stir fry with rice.

                            • I've already decided for today. Aubergine Parmigiano, garlic bread and a side salad.

                              Either strawberries and cream (if I find some nice ones while on my croissant hunt) or ice cream of some sort.

                              • We ended up having a beef stir-fry with red pepper and courgette plus black bean sauce as it was quicker last night. Will go for the beef and broccoli tonight.
