  • Morning

A cloudy day here as well Flo but no rain so a good day to be out and about.

CG I grow an early tomato Mini Bell its a window sill plant apparently but mine tends to go a bit wild in the GH. I sow them the same time as my Black cherry but they produce 2 to 3 weeks earlier.

Snoop I tried Soya milk just the once but i haven't tried any of the alternative milks. Luckily we have door step deliveries so rarely runout of milk.

    Enjoy your day

    • Good morning all, very dull and grey.
We are out to a neighbours funeral this morning..
      Catch you all later.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

          • Good morning all.

grey morning here. Not a glimmer of sunshine. At least it's not too cold. We're heading into the high 20s again on Monday.

A word of warning to all you air fryer users. Do NOT use it for crumble! I made an apple and blueberry crumble yesterday and put it in the air fryer. The fan blew a decent amount of crumble off the top while it was cooking and it pebbledashed the drawer. There was still plenty of topping on the crumble but I then had to soak the drawer.

Snoop, I've always really enjoyed fresh milk and have only ever tried alternatives when at other people's houses and food fairs. I just don't think that they should be allowed to call them "milk". A bit like "vegetarian bacon" and "vegetarian meatballs". To my mind, complete oxymorons. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned. I must be, as I actually cook! I think some of my neighbours these days think that dinner only appears as a pre-cooked delivery. Personally I can't abide lukewarm food.

rary, I liked your comment about everything in the garden looking good in the rain. I used to think that a few inches of snow was a great leveller. It hid all my sins and laziness.

Time to actually do something productive now.

                    • Good afternoon, someone was supposed to come this morning to do some work for retaining my wall, he never turned up, so have started doing the job myself, I have got the pipes in for one of the retainers, then I started relaying the monoblock, but have stopped for a bit of a rest just now, and fortunately one of the grandsons phoned to see if wanted anything done so he is now coming to finish the job, he has never done any work like this but at least he is,willing to try, and he has ti learn sometime, Nicos if its one of those weedwonds, which is worked with a small gas canister I have found that though it kills the top growth it doesn't get down to the roots, if a paraffin burner those can reach high temperatures so kills the roots, they are also verygood for sterilising soil, you could try a cup of salt to 5lts. of vinigar as a weedkiller, safer for cats and dogs than some of the herbicides and GF I also like the garden with a covering of snow, it makes my garden look as tidy as all the neighbours, right back to work, have a good day and remember to pass on some smiles

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I'm sat watching and listening to a couple of Robins, they seem to be discussing me and the compost I put down from the compost bin.
