  • Morning all.

Sorry to hear about your bank situation, Jay. I hate dealing with banks. You're right, they make you feel like a thief, like it's their money.

Good luck finding plants, Nicos. I love petunias. Such big flowers and dramatic colours. Plus, they seem to cope with everything the weather can throw at them.

Not a very energetic start to the day. I've watered the trees that needed it but Jack has only had a perfunctory walk. Better make it up to him later.

Jobs today include a pile of work, more watering and cleaning the summer fridge and bringing it back into use. Then more domestics. The bedroom rearrange has ground to a halt and that's my fault. Time to get back on it.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    • Jay….thats really frustrating about the bank…tbh , I too would think about leaving them.
We had an equally frustrating talk with our bank last week. Our local branch has closed and our account has been taken over by a bank 45 mins away. They demanded we go and talk with them in person rather than on the phone. Nope.
It was all about having our uk pensions going through an intermediary ( good exchange rate) rather than directly from our uk bank ( poor exchange rate)…. ‘ How much have you got in that account?…do you have other accounts…how much money do you have in the uk?’
None of their business! ‘Everything is declared to the French Tax people!’
What makes these busybodies feel so empowered?
We never had problems with the previous bank. Very very annoying.

On a brighter note we’ve just had 2 D- day marked transporters flying overhead ( looks like 3 white bars on each wing) practicing manoeuvres for the D- day celebrations. Can’t see the parachutists being allowed to jump if this wind keeps up. Fingers crossed for them.

            • Good morning all, sunny and showery at 15 degs.
A trip to renew my driving licence this morning and then a grory hop.
We may visit the library this afternoon

Jay, I hope you get your problem with the bank sorted, they speak to you as if THEY are always right.
Move away from them if your not satisfied.

Nicos I am another lover of petunias but find they are prone to greenfly.

              Have a good day all.

              • Morning, it’s a cool 12° with rain all day! Where’s summer?
Happy Birthday Flo, hope you have a lovely day. That cake sounds yummy!
As for the bank I’ve already told them if it happens again I’m closing the account. Can’t waste time going through that every month.
Anyhoo, off to the hospital so will catch you later. Have a great day. x

It's tomorrow now, does that mean we get cake Flo! (stands with arms outstretched like Oliver, holding a very pretty side plate, which might be on the large side, in hope of a big slice of delicious homemade Victoria sponge)

                  • I bought a whole pile of geraniums today from the farm supplies shop. Not cheap, but I’m feeling happy that I have some.
We’re going to market tomorrow so hopefully there will be more there.

On the way home I noticed the car said it was 15°C….this time last week it was 36°C…. 21° cooler
Given the choice, 15° wins hands down. ( that’s a funny expression…I wonder where that comes from?)

As I was opening the bedroom window this afternoon, I spotted the fox cub legging it out of the garden. What a superb , healthy looking cub! It had a thick rich orange/red coat and amazingly thick bushy tail.
It has clearly found the wild cherry fruit on the lawn from the June drop.
Thank goodness we have an electric mesh fence around the chooks!
