Good morning all. Not a good start to the day for varying reasons but never mind.

I've got to call at the elderly relative's care home later to give permission for her to have a Covid jab. This seems weird. I'll take Mr GF with me as he is actually her nearest relative and next of kin although he is not feeling too good today.

It's 13°C and overcast at the moment.

Another overcast day but its dry.
I have to visit the eye specialist this morning so that's the first half of the day spoken for.
No sign of any smiles here Snoop, it's a while since they visited as the weather has been miserable.

Rary, if you run out of windows you can come and do mine.

GF, hope you have a good visit to the care home.

Thanks for the link, Bren. I too would use pinhead oatmeal but impossible to find here. Are the medium pinhead oats you use the ones in the link?

Snoop I just put that link up as an example I buy mine from a local corn merchant, pinhead for breakfast then medium or fine for oatcakes otherwise they’re to lumpy.

Back again. Part of this morning's problems were Mr GF had toothache in the night and our dental practice never reopened after covid. I've rung 111 and they've got him an appointment for Friday morning a couple of miles away. The painkillers he takes for other problems are keeping it under control for now.

Good evening, was the forum down for a time I tried to get on earlier, not allowed.
Anyway, was a nice day but did have occasional cloud but no rain, washed som window for OH then went for the dogs, while out I discovered that a large branch had come off one of the beech trees further along the hedgerow from me, that's the second beech tree in that area that has dropped a large branch, the branch is now sawn up and stacked for drying, though as I finished just a short time ago it did feel a lot cooler than it has been of late I don't think it will be too long till we get our first frost. Need to go Shetland coming on, pass on some smiles

Good afternoon all,OOOOHpoor MR GF,what a carry on,covid's got the blame for everything going,i started this post earlier on,must have pressed somat,and lost it,then got busy about the kitchen and forgot,so here i am,there goes that C word again hehehe,an idea for gifts,give a donation to the winter heating,just an LD idea, hope you all had as good a day as i have,night night all

We have a very misty start to the day. Looks eerie and mystical out there at the moment

Toothache gf?…..ouch - not nice, not nice at all Lets hope it’s sorted quickly.

Talking of heating lottie - I was thinking of giving hot water bottles for Xmas gifts this year. Both my children have wood stoves so they can at least heat the water for free. Every little helps.

Earlystart for me today, just lots to do mainly because I’ve turned a blind eye away from the non urgent jobs.
They do hang around waiting to pounce on your conscience don’t they?
Apples and ironing are the priority but they seem to have taken over!

I’ll be doing some batch cooking savouries today or tomorrow for the freezer so I expect some baking too to fill up the oven.

Time for a brew don’t you think?….

Good morning, a nice bright morning again but some clouds moving in, I think I will have to stop the bird feeding for a time, even though I don't like doing it, as at the moment there are a dozen pigeons moving about the grass, and they make quite a mess of the roofs and windows, fortunately they have not dirtied any washing yet but it's just a matter of time for that to happen, then again them messing the windows wouldn't be a problem 8f bramble stayed a bit closer, she did say she wanted more windows to clean, didn't she? For some reason I can't see her post now, it's like the housework, it disappears like magic
Well it will be up to the church for coffee, then collect my daughters car and take it to the garage as she has a puncture needing repaired, changed days not so many years ago all cars had a spare, nowadays no spare, cuts down waight, increases profit first though I will get out to the greenhouse and check on the tomatoes, I also have some lettuce and cabbage planted in the bed, will need to think on what else I can grow over winter, as I intend to keep it more productive this year. Need to go out to the greenhouse now OH I mentioned something about dust. Have a good day and pass on a smile, which could help both you and the recipients

Oh yes Rary…I’m not sure if I recall seeing bramble offering to come and clean all your windows…surely there would be a proviso that you pay her travel expenses?

Or maybe that was a dream????
I hear that dreams become more realistic when you get older Rary . Anything else you are anticipating???….

Good morning,nice day again so far,i have 3 nice large butternuts to prepare and pop in the freezer,2 have some brown parks on them,have googled,still no proper answer,but they should be ok inside,also try some tromba frozen,see if i like it after,quite fancy trying some as ginger jam,yum yum,i best get cracking,it nice when we can put something on the table that we have grown and preped ourselves,them smiles are having a good effect on me,have a lovely day all

Good morning all. The sun keeps popping in and out this morning. I've got the curtains wide open to let the warmth in. I've spent all Summer keeping it out. I actually turned the heating on yesterday for an hour.......first time in months. Winter is on the way.

I've been and sorted out permission for the in-law in the care home to get a covid jab tomorrow. Mr GF is feeling sorry for himself but is not really in pain.

I think I ought to go and search out the vacuum cleaner next as my floors are in desperate need.

Morning all.

Glad to see you're getting the benefit of the smiles, LD. It was chilly in the night here, so they set off with a vigorous flapping this morning to try and keep warm.

Good idea about the donation to heating as a gift when that unmentionable time of year comes round again. I might mention firewood as a possible present to anyone asking what I'd like.

Got tons to do today and tomorrow, so tomatoes and blackberries will have to wait till the weekend. Hope they can hang on till then, especially the blackberries.

It's a beautiful autumn morning here.
Unfortunately I am off to the church for a neighbours funeral.

Windows , did so done offer to clean my windows, bet that will be Rary, he is always looking for something to do.

Household chores this afternoon and then fun with the grandson.
