    Ice cream maybe Snoop?

I occasionally make this ice cream - very seasonal and yet low calories.

Half the quantities is enough of a serving for two people.

I prefer to make it with yogurt instead rather than milk - and don’t bother with the toppings.
Last time I threw in a few strawberries.
That sounds good... I've got some tiny chocolate drops. They're the size of pinheads and no good for anything. Not at all what I expected. I might lob a few of those in.

burnie, I have never heard of freezing custard. I would somehow have expected it to split on thawing. Evidently not. Did you freeze banana custard?

We've been a walk around the fields and pond now back home for lunch.
I've not tried making banana ice cream I'll have to give it a try, Nicos do you blend your bananas from frozen or thaw them out a bit?

I crush them with a fork and add a small amount of yog at first. That seems to do the trick.

        • Good afternoon, we went over to a new place that has opened up where the steelworks used to be, and had some sandwiches, then OH suggested taking the boys for a walk, then when the boys agreed she said she would wait in the car till we came backso boys and I walked for about a mile then decided to turn back but as they had noticed a track cutting through trees they wanted to go that way, ofcour not being a proper path meant dodging nettles, thistles and brambles, as well as walking over wet roots (very slippery) and being bent double to go under branches, we finally made it back to where we could see the car, I thought that we should have came out beside the car but we still had a walk that felt like another mile, OK it was only about 600yards but it still felt like a mile😕 I don't know what has changed I used to find that sort of thing great fun, possibly because the sun wasn't outn9w need to go and inspect the inside of my eyelids
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Tonight Mr GF had a moan......he couldn't find a teaspoon. I'm glad he is finally acknowledging the black hole where they are constantly disappearing. Aaaarrrggghh!!!🤯🤯🤯

Five minutes later and I had ordered a dozen of Argos's cheapest specimens that I can pick up after 10AM tomorrow at the Sainsbury's local which is very close.

It was eaten still frozen, you just had to let it warm up a little as it was rock hard as I remember, probably 60 years since I last had some. My maternal Grandma had all sorts of puddings she used in the war, one was gingernut biscuits in a bowl of custard left over night in the fridge, I still eat that now, that might make a good frozen dessert.

                  • I was just closing all the curtains on the easterly facing windows to keep the sun out in the morning and as usual I had a good look to see if I could see the local hedgehog. Not one, but two tonight.....A bonus.

                        How lovely seeing hedgehogs!
I think we still have one as only very occasionally I spot their poop in the garden.

We had magnificent thunder and lightning overnight - and very heavy rain. And now the temperatures have dropped to a much more bearable level.
We have a Mrs Mop day today so that was perfect timing!

Have a great weekend peeps - anyone up to anything exciting/ unusual?

                        • Good Morning All Very muggy here too, with storms forecast for later.
I'm waiting for Chester the Springer, who is not so springy now as he's 15. He's boarding with us for a week while two of the GGs and their Poppa are on holiday. I must admit I'm a bit anxious as he's quite frail.
                          Have a good day

                          • Good morning, sunny and warm, so will get a bit of gardening done today, I actually slept to the back of eight this morning, told OH I was going for a shower, and was told to hurry up as she wanted one also, so ever the gentleman I offered to share, was told No, I then pointed out the advantages of doing so, such as saving the cost of electricity, saving water, thereby being more friendly to the environment, to which I was told it wasn't the environment I wanted to be friendly with, I really do think my OH understands me, now having my breakfast and wanting for OH to finish showering so I can get my teeth brushed, then out to the garden, enjoy your day keep safe if you are in a lightning storm and enjoy your day

                            • Good morning all.
Bright and sunny but we have a wind warning in place.
Laundry has been out and almost dry now.
Nothing particular on the cards today.
I will probably return my library books and call in to the post office.
                              Have a good dsy all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                              • Afternoon all.

It's a hot, hot day here. Due to be even hotter in a few days. Not so much grin and bear it as grim and bear it. Even so, still cooler so far this summer than in previous years. Mr Snoop is being a mad dog's an Englishmun, up some scaffolding out in the midday sun, mortaring some stones in place. Me, I'm down in the cool of the basement. I ought to feel guilty but I don't. I got up earlier and got a lot of jobs out of the way before. Mind you, even I know that smugness isn't very becoming...

Ginger nuts and custard sound good, burnie. Me I just like ginger nuts, it has to be said, but I am most definitely not a tinned mandarin fan, Nicos. The ghastliest pudding we ever used to have when I was a kid - as far as I was concerned, everyone else loved it - was mandarin segments in orange jelly.

The rest of the day brings a bit of baking (bread, crackers and a banana and honey tea loaf), a bit of cooking and a bit of socialising (off to see the neighbour with a loaf). Doubtless I can get a bit of eyelid inspecting in there somewhere. Mr Snoop is doing his own socialising. He's off to an art exhibition in a nearby village. Having seen the picture on the poster and assuming that's the best of the all the exhibits, I'm passing. Mr Snoop is going for the people, though, and I'm not that good in a crowd, some of whom will doubtless know me and I'll have no idea whatsoever who they are (in case I've not mentioned it before, I suffer from face blindness).

Right, better get on with making the crackers. Otherwise the serf up the scaffolding will be protesting at the lack of nourishment to keep him going.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone.
