  • I don't have desserts very often, so if I do, I want them to be worth the wait. I once, to my shame, complained in Thorntons coffee shop that they didn't have anything chocolatey, gooey, and creamy enough.

There's a pub near here that used to do the most gorgeous lemon sundaes, in a knickerbocker glory glass, with lemon curd, ice cream, pieces of meringue, whipped cream and heaven only knows what else. They were worth every one of their calories. ( We did used to share one between us)

      • Tonight, I'm thinking trout baked in foil in the air fryer with butter, lemon, and capers, roast vegetables (courgette, onion, garlic, peppers, butternut squash, tomatoes and anything else that looks suitable) and couscous.

          • Scallops tonight. Frozen Bay scallops out of the freezer. I'll have them in a cheesy sauce, either in a ring of piped, baked mashed potato or on/with garlic bread. Salad to go with them.

            • Having jacket/baked potato and I've some leftover thighs to cook which may end up a leftovers filling...red pesto , borlotti beans, pepperoni and chicken. Will have with added cheese and salad

              • Whatever I can make from the jumble of left overs in the fridge and won’t store in the freezer.
Looking like it’s a tumble salad

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

                        • Fish in batter, potato OR sweet potato wedges, peas and tartare sauce.

I'm going to make some fridge cake a.k.a sticky chocolate cake, this afternoon. I think I'll go and put some sultanas or raisins to soak in some booze ready to go in.

                            • After forgetting about breakfast and lunch, I eventually decided to have bacon, egg and tomato when I got home from the hospital, only to discover the portion of bacon that I could have sworn was in the freezer had disappeared. I do have a vague memory of a bacon sandwich late one night . I did however find the lump of ginger that I couldn't find last week!

I settled on an egg sandwich whole alI was trying to think of something.

I'm thinking about ragù and garlic bread for later.

                              • Called at the farm shop for some bits for mum after her blood test while she waited in the car people watching. Some cakes and chocolate from the local chocolate maker also appeared for her and I got a quiche for us, we had it with chips and salad.

I've taken some braising steak out so may slow cook that and might even chilli it with some beans and heat , or cream and mushrooms or all of those things 😄 served possibly with rice and some broccoli.
