Tonight I think salmon. I'm torn between baking it or making it into a risotto. I think I'll go for risotto to also include sweetcorn peas and courgettes.
Strawberries and cream. (Yesterday's strawberries were absolutely massive. Only seven in a 250 gram punnet. It must be the weather).
Orange jelly is now off the menu. It just seems the wrong sort of weather for it. We'll have some paradise slice, which is in the oven now, with a coffee instead.
Basa fillets, new potatoes, courgette fritters, corn on the cob, beetroot and homemade tartare sauce.
Strawberries and cream.
Not to put you off, GF, but I would never eat basa. It is a river fish farmed in countries such as Vietnam, particularly on the Mekong river, one of the most polluted rivers in the world. Basa will survive in incredibly polluted waters, but how much of that pollution are they absorbing?

I think tonight will be fish pie, made with cod out of the freezer. We'll have carrots and French beans with it.
I might go on a hunt for some nice strawberries, although there's a sneaky little thought that profiteroles filled with whipped brandy cream and served with warm chocolate sauce would be nice, that keeps trying to hijack my brain. (It really isn't worth making them for two of us ..... or is it?).
