Home made chilli grows. Just big pots with a resivoir in the bottom and a float indicator. I've put a capillary matting wick in it like in my real chilli grow. Planted them up with Thai dragon, lemon drop & jalapeņo. We will see what happens

      • I should think John Inns no 2 should be fine Jay. Plenty of drainage.

            • Bramble I had 3 F1 Medina plants last year and they were amazing - super prolific and lovely long uniform chillies which were just the right level of heat

              • Potted on my 2 red manzano plants today as they are the only 2 (for some reason) that look buggered.

So we'll see what happens now that they are in their final pot (5 litre pot. Not an ideal size but with me having 23 chilli and pepper plants this year and most of them staying in my house, i havn't got room for anything bigger. I havn't even got room for 23 five litre pots but I'll find a way.)

                • Hi Everyone!

                  Progressing well!

Was hoping to get em in the "Polytunnel" this weekend gone by, but the Min/Max Thermometer predicted otherwise!

Tomatoes a little late sowing, 100% germination! So happy about that!

                  • What's the ideal minimum temperature for chillies?

                    • On a night Burnie, no less than 10 degrees!

And not above 35c as the pollen may become sterile.

                        • I've had my first few plants outside for a few days now. A bit of damage when the blow-away blew over a couple of times, so scrapped that and they're uncovered now. So far, so good, but forecast is for 6^ tomorrow night so I might have to drag them into the garage as the big pots won't fit in the house.

The prize for first ripe chillies from seed goes to Aji Omnicolor. Well, they're not fully ripe yet, but they have started to change colour. Exciting!

Managed to knock one of the Reaper pods off with the curtain yesterday morning. Haven't dared to try it yet, even green. I haven't managed to get my heat tolerance levels much at all; I still find Superchilli and Gusto Purple plenty hot enough, and Not Scotch makes me cry.

                            • Been in the greenhouse for a few weeks growing slowly but surely. But the new leaves are all scrunched up, also have a pepper plant doing the same. Any ideas?
