    • Pouring with rain this morning, so no allotment today unless it clears up later. Mind you we need the rain! Did the first session of my RHS course yesterday. Nice to be amongst like minded people. My family think it's hilarious as I now have a NUS card.

I am trying to understand what you mean Susie, hope Toby gets well soon, and yes GG I had a dog that got down on his hunkers to sneak past the window once by the window was off like the clappers, I think he was looking for crumpets also. Tried to get on sooner BM but too much chatter from the girls

          • Mornin n'all n'all!

            Oops, late start for me!

Awww, poor Toby- hope he feels better soon.( not nice for you either!)

I awoke to the sound of the green woodpecker ( harbinger of rain apparently), light drizzle landing on the window, and water tinkling down the metal drainpipes ( lovely sound isn't it?)

Looking at our brown ' crunchy nut cornflake' of a lawn I can see even after 1 day of rain the weeds have suddenly got green leaves!

Today I shall be mostly be sorting and tidying away my craft stuff from almost every room in the house!....I may be some time...

Have a great day peeps- Tis weekend this evening!( only 14 more til ****)Te he...lets see if BB spots this and alters it! shhhhh......

            • Good morning people. Dull and dreary today but we don't seem to have had any of last nights rain and thunder storms. The dogs would have woken me if we had as they are terrified of them. Socialising day today so going out to meet friends at lunchtime.

I was unexpectedly asked out yesterday lunchtime and had phone calls from 2 of my children and a surprise visit from the 3rd. They were all making sure I wasn't on my own as it was the 11th anniversary of Brian's death. Aren't people lovely, well most of them anyway.

              Have a super day everyone.

              • Morning all, lovely and sunny but a bit breezy this morning. There is also a freshness in the air, feeling autumnal. Going to pick the green toms this morning, doubt they will turn red now. Will use them to make some more of Dorothy R's chutney...it was a success last year.

Hope Toby dog is recovering well and Janie, people do surprise you sometimes.

Meant to say hope you all have a lovely day.

                  Hey Rary,

I heard that you passed alright, but only in so far as the doctors failed in their efforts to remove the large lump from you i.e. your wallet

                      • Morning All from Sunshiny you-know-where
Its so sunshiny that Ted has dragged a towel outside so that he can lie on it in the sun. Unfortunately, Bess decided that his ear needed a wash so she has him pinned against the step. Spud hopes Bess won't recognise him from the rear!

                        What to do today?
I'm torn between gardening, skinning tomatoes or going to Wilk's looking for bargains (I blame Small Pumpkin for tempting me )

Have a Happy Friday whatever you're doing - but keep your ears covered in case Bess is around

                          • Good afternoon all. Just back from my walk. Dry and sunny here but its a little bit cooler. Off out to do a bit of tidying and digging in the garden and whatever that leads to.
                            Have a good day all.

                            • What a cute picture of your dogs VC

Afternoon all. I wish I could say it was sunny but the weather has turned drastically from being mega hot to cold with rain that's been going on for hours. Good that the water butts will get refilled and it did save me watering this morning. But not very inspiring weather.

Our weekly trip to the garden centre was a bit naff today since they were having water trouble and the coffee shop and the restaurant were both closed They had the first of the C******* stuff out which I love to browse round bit early though isn't it! I haven't started on my Halloween decorations yet never mind C*******!

Didn't stay long as so desperate for coffee. So came home bit bored (not like me at all) so going to pester hubby to get the decs down so I can enjoy getting on with something fun while the weather is so bad. I've got socks on for the first time in months so it must be cold.

Hope other vine members are having a nicer day.

LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
