When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

          The chickens, or the eggs?

Finishing my latest skirt, all but the waistband.

          • The eggs, Jules - there's no sign of the chickens. They must jump up, ring the bell with their beaks and fly away before I open the door. This is the 2nd time they've done it and its most perplexing Makes me happy though

            • The bluebells in the little wood that my mum planted over twenty years ago now make me very happy. I planted the bluebells a few years ago as they were her favourite flowers.

Oh, how sad....it's like those old fashioned stories where babies were abandoned on doorsteps. No notes?

Gorgeous Verinda - are they the scented variety?

That was a made-to-measure special, dead cheap, from ebay. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't fit but it did - I just had to take in the seams under the arms. And then I plastered it in 2000+ beads & sequins and made the wrap to match. Oh, and I made the pouffy petticoat underneath....

Anyhoo - happiness is waking up and knowing, in your heart of hearts, that your son is ok. He's been checked out, he's fine. Deep breath and relax......

                    • Well, I have to confess I don't know if they are scented! Someone gave me a pile of them dug up from an old ladies garden and they are gradually spreading which is brilliant. Hmm, gonna have to go and sniff them now! I'll let you know. Do regular bluebells have no scent?

                      • Bluebells have the most wonderful scent - slightly spicy - a real knockout when you walk through a bluebell wood. The invasive Spanish bluebell has very little scent
Identify your bluebells | Natural History Museum I must have a snuffle at mine and a wander in the local woods where the real thing grows

                            • Spending revision time with the boy teaching him ways to remember that ventricles are the lower chambers of the heart, by rhyming it with something similar down below. Won't forget that in a hurry! Seriously love biology. Photosynthesis, I'm right there!
