    • Good afternoon, a wet but cool day showing a temp. of 10c. but with the wind its more like 7c. there are now occasional gusts of wind, hopefully it stays like that and not develop into anything stronger. After a peaceful night OH managed to get out of bed by herself this morning, so possibly things improving a bit, was up at the chemist for the rest of OHs prescription for the slow release tramadol, they didn't have enough to fill the full prescription last week, while up the town I popped in to the church coffee morning had a quick cuppa then back home, made some lunch for the both of us and now just relaxing a bit, I made the suggestion of ordering an adjustable bed, but the usual , no I would like to see it first, how OH expects to see it, when she struggles to getin a car beats me, however I will get both son and daughter to push it a bit, them dor it will mean I won't be in the bad books, and while on about adjustable beds, does anyone know if you require independent covers for a twin kingsize bed, hopefully not as that would save me from anow roasting from OH, though not realy too troubled about that as I can always remove my hearing aid enjoy the rest of the day and find somew to make you smile, then remember to pass them on.

      • Evening!
We eventually decided to go out in the camper tomorrow instead. But we have decided on a lovely destination which is right next to a large stream. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ve not put rocks to block the road as one of the locals said that this summer there were loads of people blocking the narrow access to it. If they have, there is a lovely spot to camp up nearby but it’s not next to the river.

          • Rary, if by twin kingsize bed you mean two beds joined together, the answer is probably yes. Otherwise you need very large bedding and both have to sleep at the same adjustment.

Moreover, we have joined our two beds together but I don't regard it as safe: one night, I flung my hand over when I was asleep and it ended up underneath the head end of Mr Snoop's bed, elevated higher than mine. If he had decided to lower his side for whatever reason in the night, I could easily have ended up with a broken, possibly even amputated, arm or hand. Separating the beds is unfriendly but much safer.

If you decide you don't mind sleeping at the same height adjustment but don't have bedding large enough to fit across the two mattresses, you will have a devil of a job fitting individual sheets because the far edge of each mattress in the middle isn't easy to reach. Makes for a good laugh and a bit of strenuous exercise, though. I speak from experience...

The Grory hop went fine and wasn’t too busy so long as we kept away from the Christmas aisle

Rary I hope you sort out a comfy bed so MrsR can get a decent nights sleep.

Its been fine all day but now it heavy rain, not that I plan on going out.

              • Evening all

I'm hoping that I have a better night's sleep tonight. Yesterday, the occupational therapy team sent a mattress overlay for Mr GF. Basically, it's an air bed. This morning I blew it up and managed to get it onto Mr GF's side of the bed, under the bottom sheet. It is just as well that I'd ordered very deep fitted sheets as there is now another couple of inches to mattress to squash in.

I spent ages last night trying to reconnect the bedroom TV to the wi-fi. Somehow it had disconnected itself ..... for the first time ever.

I actually thought that I'd posted this last night .... but obviously not .... and it's the wee small hours again ...... and I'm awake ...... again. It's definitely far too early to even consider coffee.

                • Morning all.

I hope you're managing to catch some sleep GF. Seems like your internal clock needs re-setting to "normal" instead of "midnight owl". 🙂

I've been up a while and the washing machine is on its second load.

I have a new craft to try today or tomorrow. I was given a birdbox willow weaving kit for my birthday a while ago, which basically consists of a bag of withies plus access to an online course. I've soaked the withies 3 days and drained them for one, so now they are prepared and I can call up the video and begin. May be a bit tricky as I refuse to have the internet on my phone, and my PC is upstairs, so I'll have to watch the video and then try to remember the steps downstairs, as I'm not carting wet withies all around the house. 😕

Still thinking about a new tree, but I may end up getting out the old one and then hoping for a bargain in the post-Christmas sales.

MH…Thats a great plan re the tree… Have fun with the birdbox!

Gosh Snoop…that really is an accident waiting to happen

We’re finally heading off today in the camper - just for a few hours, so I need to get a wiggle on and pull together a picnic.

Have a great day everyone, and remember to share those smiles

                      • I can't have had too bad a night's sleep as I actually feel quite rested this morning. The sky is just starting to lighten, but it's still half an hour until sunrise. I'm glad that I don't live much further north. I can't imagine living in the dark, and cold, for months on end.

I think I'll just sneak off to the kitchen now as the thought of coffee is luring me there.

Coffee made, and it's too cloudy to see a sunrise. I am now sitting in bed, wrapped in a ginormous hoodie. Warmth, and coffee.

The Occupational therapist is due to visit Mr GF again today.

I hope everyone else has had a decent, painfree night's sleep. I will put the light and TV on shortly to try and wake Mr GF up enough to take a painkiller. He can doze back off then for an hour if he wants while it takes effect.

Nicos, I hope that you enjoy your trip out in the camper today. I love to be next to water, preferably the sea, just watching it and listening to it.

Yikes, Snoop! Keep your arms and legs tucked in. Is there no emergency cut off for if there is an obstruction?

                        ...... later again.....

MH, I like the sound of the birdbox kit. Can you bring the video up on your TV instead of your computer? Will we get to see the end result?

MH that's a hobby I've not tried yet, let us know how it turn out.

Hope you got back to sleep GF, have a go at changing your bedtime routine you never know that might help.

                          Enjoy your outing Nicos.

                            • Morning all.

GF, I know this might seem heresy and I'm a bit scared to say it... but might less coffee help you sleep better? Or are you already on decaff so it makes no difference?

Another bright and frosty start to the day but toasty warm indoors, thank goodness.

More of the same on the cards, so better shake a leg.

Have a great day, everyone. Sounds like you've got a nice one on the cards, Bramble.

                              • Snoop Puss, I do like my coffee strong with caffeine in it, but I generally only drink it early in the mornings and usually only two mugs, occasionally three.

The occupational therapists have been, two of them, plus a student. Mr GF was not in a very helpful mood, but they are happy enough with him.
