  • Good Morning All It started out misty and damp, but the sun has come out now. Jack sounds as though he is the size of a small horse Snoop! I'm on the hunt for some Agapanthus seeds I collected last year. I can't for the life of me remember where I put them. Have a good day

I like to pop in and get orchids and church candles…we burn a lot of candles and they are the cheapest I’ve found which burn well.
That bit about candles reminds me of the story about the time electricity was made available in one of the islands, When they started sending out the bills one old mans bill was just 5 shillings, they sent a man out to check to if he had bypassed his meter, so arrived at the cottage abd checked the meter but no indication of tampering, so turning to the old fellow he asked why his bill was so low, Oh son, said the old man, this is great, in the past when I came home from the pub I usually had to serch for about ten minutes to find my matches to light the lamp, now when I come home, I switch on the light and get the matches right away.
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Yesterday was just a lazy pottering day as I felt a bit drained. Today we have another showery day so possibly another pottering day. I could do with doing some pricking out but we shall see.

Right let's get that kettle going, anyone joining me?

ooo…am I too late CG for that brew?…maybe I should put on a fresh pot…

Grey and damp here, but at least no chilling wind…so that’s a good sign.
I’ve decided to sow my sweet peas directly into the tubs they were in last year. There are a few self seeded which are already 8” high in there so it does seem like a bit less effort with the watering and potting on of seedlings.

I’m out this afternoon….grory hop and a couple of other things, so if I’m going to get any gardening done it’ll need to be this morning!
So…must get on a bit of a wiggle once I’ve had my brew.

Enjoy your day peep…anyone spotted the smiles yet?

                  • Morning all.

Another dry start to the day. I'm afraid I hogged the smiles a bit this morning, Nicos. Lovely walk with Jack first thing An old route I haven't done for a long time, as it was completely overgrown. M is in the throes of buying the land and has cleared the path through. Missed the old dogs and cats walking along it with me. Especially our first dog, who used to love running along one of the stretches to a pool, one of the cats charging along behind her. Doubtless Jack will make his own history. We were thinking of giving him to someone else, as he really is too much for us. But it looks like he's staying.

Plenty of work to keep me busy this morning. Off into the village for errands this afternoon. And plenty of looking out the window, I imagine, watching the birds and hoping to see blue sky. We are forecast more storms, but if I could keep them away with willpower, I would. The valley into which ours flows is running like a river by the sound of it. And the footpaths are more like streams in some places. Mr Snoop has hung my sodden boots up in front of the pellet heater in the hope they'll dry out a bit.

                    Have a great day, everyone.

                    • Good day all, another sunny morning but the breeze is still on the cool side.
We are forecast a thunder storm this afternoon, fingers crossed it changes its mind.
Snoop, hope it stays dry for you, and hope Jack quietens down for you.
                      Have a good day all.

                      • Good evening.

I've just popped in to say that after the worst week or so of my life my darling husband died early this morning in bed with me, holding hands. It has been awful but I'm 100% sure it would have been far worse if he'd been in hospital.

I'm really hoping that at some point I manage to get some sleep but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
