Morning all.
Great news about the skip, LD. Sounds like you've got your mojo back in good time for your holidays. Hope you have a great time. I love ginger biscuits. You've inspired me. Might see if I can make some fairings this weekend. Ages since I baked anything. Including bread, which is daft seeing as I've got a silo's worth of flour waiting to be used...
All good on the southern front. Rather a slow start to the day today, much to Jack's disgust. Still no walk.
Better knock back my cup of tea - and better say no to a croissant, but thanks for the offer, CG - and get my boots on.
Have a great day, everyone.

Morning
We spent most of yesterday in the garden one of those times when you can actually see the difference

Good morning again.
Thanks for the coffee, CG. Your comment about the ponds of water in your garden made me smile. Back in the 1970s I worked with a young Polish woman who had moved to the UK as a teenager. She spoke excellent english, but one night, after days of heavy rain, a group of us were walking through a badly potholed car park and she looked around at all the deep puddles and asked, "Is this what you call a Lake District?" It was from that moment onwards.....
I never went out yesterday as we were waiting for the District nurse, who never appeared. If she hasn't appeared by Monday I'll give their office a call. I think that she probably gave me the wrong date, as it three months from Mr GF's last vitamin B12 jab next Friday, not this. Mr GF reckons that they are a waste of time and they have no effect on him.
I must call round to see my brother in law later as I never got there yesterday.
Lottie, good news that you've eventually got rid of the skip. I hope you enjoy your holiday.

Mornin n’alln’all
wow…we’ve just had an incredible thunder and lightning storm…so exciting!
And now it’s pouring down.
Yesterday hit 33C - warm enough to wash and dry the protective pad from the bed and line dry it.
We’ve decided to try and take a last minute quick break over to the uk, so lots of packing etc to do over the next couple of days!
So picking and preserving of tomatoes etc and finding of fleece will need to be done too. Thank goodness it was dry yesterday as we also got the lawns mowed. It made a change too picking up hazelnuts yesterday out of a dry lawn instead of in the pouring down rain!
Have a great day everyone…I did spot the smiles flitting around after the storm had passed- no doubt enjoying the cooler air
Lottie- have a fantastic break- I’m so pleased your skip has finally gone- appalling back up from the people you hired it from
Can you ask for your £ to be reimbursed as compensation for all the stress? Just a thought.
Right…I best shake a leg and get a wiggle on…plenty to do inside and out…."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good morning all, we had persistent rain overnight but it has finally stopped.
Have a wonderful holiday Lottie, and as Nicos said, try to claim your money back for lack of service and stress it caused you,
We bought our curtains yesterday so we will hang them this afternoon.
A trip to the library is on the cards for this morning.
Have a good day all,
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Good afternoon, drying with occasional sunshine, forecast says rain shortly need to watch for it as I have a washing out, though once I finish my lunch I think I will bring it in, then will do some work in the greenhouse, I really need to get as much work done as possible as I get my hand done on the 30th. so will be out of action garden wise for several weeks and of course OH will Want to extend the time as much as possible, she is always telling me to slow down, but I dont like just sitting about, as I told her there will be plenty of time to sit about when we are old, and talking about sitting about I hope those going on holiday find time to relax and enjoy themselves,. So on that note I wish you all a good day whatever the weather and remember to pass on the smiles
