    • Good evening, it has been quite a pleasant sunny day with a bit of heat along with it, so working in shirt sleeves today, cleared all the plants from the greenhouse bed also cleared out some cabbage and lettuce plants which had been damaged by snails and caterpillars, I also pulled out my courgette and cucumber plants as we will be having some low temperatures from this evening, with the sun out I managed to get all the vegetation shredded, I also sterilised a bag of burn sand, I am thinking of making another poly tunnel over one of the beds, just to see what I can grow over the winter, on that if its dry tomorrow I will cut the grass and spread it over the bed then cover the grass with soil, hopefully doing this it will create a hot bed, it might not work but I will never know till I try, wishing you all have a restful night and then have some to smile about, which of course you can pass on tomorrow

No frost here but frosty cars from only a mile away are driving up our road.

Nicos I'd do both fleece some of your peppers but pick a few to ripen indoors. I nipped out with fleece late yesterday evening to cover some lettuce seedling I'd forgotten about.

              enjoy your day

                • Morning all.

Chilly at the start of our dog walk too, CG. Not frosty, though. That's distinctly cold. Hope your fleecing helped.

Good luck finishing your packing, Nicos. I'm such a last-minute Minnie when it comes to packing. Drives Mr Snoop mad. But it's equally hopeless if I pack in advance. I still have to turf it all out last minute to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

Plenty to be getting on with today. I might just as well not have bothered with the domestics the other day. They need doing again!

Bit of paid work next then brunch. I think a tortilla and some fried toms. No figs but grapes. Wonder if I can fit some bread baking in. It would be about time...

                  Have a great day, everyone.

                  • Good morning all.

It's still quite chilly here although the sun is out. I never thought that I was going to drop to sleep last night. I was still wide awake at 2 am, but then I looked at the time again and somehow it was nearly 9 am.

The brushed cotton bedding feels so nice and welcoming. I turned the thermostat up and hopped back in while it worked it's magic.

I'm a very thorough packer of suitcases, lots of detailed lists. First items on list: passports, tickets, money, medications, insurance and car papers(if needed). My favourite things to forget used to be Mr GF's reading glasses and razors. I eventually resorted to leaving a stash of disposable razors and his spare reading glasses permanently in our hand luggage. Having lugged lots of heavy suitcases around when I was young, I thought that wheelie bags, especially if well balanced, were a brilliant invention.

Time to get the washer earning it's keep.

                    • Good morning all bright and sunny and it's 10 degs.
The laundry is out, Domestics next and then a bit of tidying in the garden.
When it comes to packing, I lay everything out on the bed in the spare bedroom until i am sure I have everything.
Like Snoop, I packed too early a couple of times and then had to take everything back out to be sure.
                      Have a good holiday Nicos.

                      • Good evening, not had a very good day today, up at half five to take grandson to his work phoned him at six to check he was up, he was, clearing ice off windscreen when I got a phone call fro granddaughter to tell me that grandson had collapsed soup as quickly as possible by the time i entered the house his sister had him on his bed, dont know how she managed, he is 6'4 she 5'6 , anyway she was on the phone o the ambulance service, but as I had arrived she said its ok Papa will bring him down, which of course I would, but when Iasjed him to stand up he couldnt move as he had twisted his back when he fell and thefe was no way I could carry him down the stairs,so phoned for,an ambulance when one finalg came he was checked out abd everw ok, but still couldn't move due to his back, as the clinic was closed today I will get the doctor to phone him tomorrow, though I am inclined to think as his mum and dad are away on holiday its lack of sleep and not eating sufficiently over the weekend, and yes we had told him we would feed him over the weekend, but was told no he would manage to feed himself, and with that I am just heading up to see he is ok as granddaughter need to go out for a wee while, so have a good evw and remember to pass on the smiles, after all it could be someone like me who receives it a d I could do with some smiles today

I hope he's back up on his own two feet soon. Always scary, something like that. Well done your granddaughter.

                              • Good Morning All Hope your grandson is ok Rary. Bright sunshine, but really cold again. My youngest son came yesterday to mend a broken gate and then he picked up hundreds of apples and I ferried them to the green bin. Such a waste, but at least they'll be composted and my garden looks so much better. The tree will have to be heavily pruned next month when the rest of the apples have fallen.
                                Have a good day
