    • Mysteriously, one of my perennial plants seems to have disappeared from the border. I think the cat has been laying in the middle so much it has flattened it and all I can see is what looks like brown corms just above the surface of the soil. What's worse is that I've forgotten its name! Tall, purple flowering and looked quite exotic. Any ideas?
I'll know it when somebody says it!

                  • Mornin n’alln’all

Woken by the dawn chorus starting as we have the bedroom window open all night again. Wonderful to hear….but it’s certainly later on these days.
Looking at that Merlin app, it’s mostly a robin and magpie being picked up…but there are others in the distance it is not picking up like a blackbird and thrush.

By the looks of things I’ll be freezing down another massive bowl of apples this morning. We are forecast 30C today so we may head off to the coast for a couple of hours. Play things by ear .

’Our’ cows are back in the field behind our field/ garden. Last time they brought horse/ cow flies, so I understand how you feel about them Peanut…nasty, persistent beasts. Not seen any yet- this time around ( says she trying not to scratch madly on the 44 ant bites that I can see)

Whats everyone else up to on what feels likely to be that last hot summers day?
Whatever it is, enjoy your day peeps.
Oh…and I spotted the smiles whizzing overhead earlier…not sure where they are going, but someone is in for a treat!
