  • ^Sounds like you've invented a great new cake.

Forgot to say earlier: our dog isn't out of the woods by a long chalk, but she is so much better than on Thursday last week. Phew!

    • That's good to hear Snoop. Lord Ginger lashed out at me again yesterday - he is one weird cat!

      • Fantastic news there Snoop….a relief for sure…at least for now. Precious moments x

And an hour later…my tongue is still gently ‘glowing’
        Its actually rather nice.
I have however drawn a large * on the freezer bag so I don’t pull it out to share unintentionally with any unintended ‘victim’

          • Good morning all.

Stupid o'clock wake up again, about 5am. Mr GF is awake too.

Yesterday the weather was glorious, shorts and sandals. (25°C). I even got my heavy brushed cotton bedding bone dry in a few hours. It's forecast to be a couple of degrees cooler today, but still very pleasant.

I've got a grory hop arriving this morning. I usually get an email around this time to let me know if anything is unavailable or substituted.

I think I might give in and head to the kitchen to make coffee as sleep is still elusive.

Great to hear that your dog has improved, Snoop.

            • Morning GF and all.

Still warm here, I'll be off out to enjoy a walk soon before it gets too hot. then I must pop out for more milk. I can't be doing without milk, even though I keep a supply of dried milk for emergencies. it's not the same taste as fresh though, and not organic. I do like organic milk for drinking.

              • Morning all.

Sunny again but decidedly cool. Still doing the hokey-cokey with my seedlings. Just as well I started them all off late. They're at least three weeks behind going in the ground already. But it looks like Thursday might be the day.

Got the neighbours down the valley coming this morning to look at our new internet set-up. Ordinarily I'd do a quick tidy-up, but they'll just have to take us as we are today. Messy!

Hope your shopping delivery arrives as per ordered, GF, and you enjoy your walk, MH. It's a lovely day for a walk here too. But work calls, so I'd better shake a leg, possibly even the other one too.

                Have a great day, everyone.

                • Morning

Early morning watering and a quick look around the garden before it gets to hot.

We did have a bit of rain yesterday it lasted almost 10 minutes so a lot less than predicted. Never mind every bit helps.

                  Enjoy your day

                  • Mornin n’alln’all

Very late waking up this morning….I think I finally got to sleep just as you were waking up GF
One good thing about being awake when I was, was that I got to see the full moon lighting up mist in the garden and through the fields. Stunning.

We had rain yesterday evening so it’s going to be a good day for cracking on with the weeds in the driveway.

Fresh milk is hard to find here MH. My daughter buys unpasteurised whole organic milk so when we are over I enjoy the flavour of that. But, I think I prefer the thickness of semi skimmed those days. Never thought I’d have got used to semiskimmed!

I best get a wiggle on….didn't get half of my intended jobs done yesterday
Enjoy your day peeps. The smiles scattered when the low flying jet whizzed overhead, rattling the windows, so I hope they managed to regroup successfully.

                      • I just went into the kitchen at the right time. I thought that I'd heard a truck. My supermarket delivery. The driver was just setting off to deliver it to my neighbours house. A loud "Oi!", brought him back in my direction. Evidently he hadn't put his reading glasses on and had read the house number wrong. I got everything I ordered with no substitutions, and all with good long dates too.

                        Happy anniversary, Flo.

Still no rain in the forecast for the next week. What happened to 3 hot days, then a thunderstorm?

                          • Good day all. The sun is shining and it's 17 degs.
Laundry is out and almost dry now.
My plum tree has a Hugh crop on it this year, so fingers crossed for a bumper harvest.
Potting on my tomatoes into their second largest pot this afternoon.
Enjoy the sunshine and have a lovely afternoon.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                            • Anyone got a spare back I can borrow please?…just an hour or so would be wonderful!

Flo! …many congratulations to you both are you doing anything special?
Crikey though…that wedding is suddenly appearing…did you get your shoes sorted?

Great news about your plum tree bramble.
I was looking at our mirabelle and that’s heavily laiden. And yes, about 1/4 of our freezer is still packed with mirabelles from last year…but OH asked a group of his friends if they’d be happy to take some off our hands this coming year and they were all very interested! I may be wrong, but I couldn’t imagine a group of English blokes getting excited about the prospect of a large bag of fruit. I know there are exceptions though of course!

                              • Nothing special Nicos - turns out we both forgot! I've tried 10 pairs of shoes and none feel suitable. I might have to resort to my flat sandals!
