  • Mornin n’alln’all
Wow Rary- let off as much steam as you want…we’re all here to support you x
Sometimes it’s easier to vent on here than with other family members for fear of worrying them too much.

Please do send our very positive thoughts to her and grab a few en route for yourself.
Fingers crossed she can come home very soon- preferably today…or might they be running some tests?
Thank goodness you were loaded with painkillers to step up like that.

This morning we had our first frost for a while. OH had a very early dental appt near the coast. Far to early for me to want to clamber out of my warm and snuggly bed , even with the promise of a trip to IKEA to get more church candles and ginger biscuit dough….so I sent him with a shopping list!

Think I may just get the woodfire going…the central heating is on so we don’t desperately need it lighting but it does just top up the temperature in the room meaning I can turn off the central heating.

Enjoy the day as best you can peeps…and Rary…all the smiles have instructions to call in at the hospital on their way to your house. They are loaded with croissants so may be a tad slower than usual.

      • Good morning again. I did manage another hour and a half of sleep while I was waiting for the central heating to do it's magic.

The postman has just delivered my mail and collected my parcel. It seems weird that it costs nearly £2 to send a letter first class but only 30p to have a 1kg parcel collected from my door. In fact the price of sending the 1kg parcel, tracked, to Australia was under £20. Delivery is supposed to be 7 to 9 working days. Last year it took 9 days

        • That's a dreadful saga, Rary. Hope she manages to escape soon. She's much better off in your care. Shocking. Thinking of you both and looking forward to hearing from you that she's back home.

And yes, Flo, I've been missing Containergardener, cariann88 and lottie dolly.

Clear sky last night, so very chilly, but a fabulous view of the moon. Still a clear sky and still very chilly.

Off up the valley for lunch again. I foresee my weight loss this year not being quite as much by the end of the month... Must remember to ask for smaller portions.

Other than that, a bit of bill calculation and a bit of work. No rest for the wicked!

          Have a great day, everyone.

As its wet we will be doing some indoor domestics,
Rary, hoping you get ome positive news today.
            Have a good day all.

            • Good afternoon, OH has just phoned to say she will be getting home today, though might be a bit later as waiting for the pharmacist to visit her first, and as there will be a number of patients requiring their attention it could be quite a while before she sees one, but so thankful that shes getting home,I was almost at the stage of looking for something that I could cook, but now I dont need to, though I will fix a chair for OH so that she doesn't need to stand while cooking the dinner . As no doubt you will know I am joking, but as I have something to smile about( evidently the ones Nicos sent over arrived) so I am passing them on to you
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

              • Rary, so delighted to hear some positive news...The smiles did the trick. I hope they spend lots of time with you. We will forgive you your little joke about the cooking, a sense of humour is a good thing.
I hope Mrs Rary gets the medication she needs to keep her pain free.

                        • Morning all, and a rainy one it is.

Glad to hear Mrs Rary will be home again, Rary. Nothing heals like home. Hope she's not too uncomfortable.

Well, I put up my old tree yesterday. It really is a lovely one and the effort of shifting the living room furniture around, hauling the tree down from the loft, setting it up and getting the lights wound on is actually well worth it. I put a few decorations on, but by then I'd had enough for one day, so I'll finish it today. The plan is to have only red, green, and silver baubles this year, plus the odd special bauble, and white tipped fir cones. Plans may change, of course.🎄

                          • Good morning.

Although it's early, I think that I've actually had a half decent night's sleep.

I hope that Mrs Rary is back at home with you by now, Rary.

I emailed my brother in Australia yesterday to tell him that I'd made him Christmas puddings and that they were on their way. Evidently, his Australian wife, who I like but have only met a few times, due to distance, is really happy.

Your tree sounds really nice, Mothhawk.

It doesn't feel particularly cold this morning. I'm trying to decide whether to get up and make coffee or to try and have another doze.

We're not forecast to see any sunshine today, unfortunately, just cloud and a bit of rain.

                            • Morning all.

The weather forecast says it should be bright right now. Got that one wrong. Very wrong.

Anyway, good start to the day. Fruit tea in bed, coffee and biscuit in bed and have now got up to a cup of tea and a piece of toast. Even a box of chocolates, but unopened as yet. Years since I had a proper box of chocolates. These ones are Lindt. Even I can smell them in the box despite all the wrapping. Jack is going mad for them. Will have to find somewhere very high up and secret, out of his way.

Off out for lunch today. Same people that used to run our favourite restaurant but now in a more modern and much larger rural tourism hotel with restaurant attached. They've only just opened. Fingers crossed they manage to keep up the same atmosphere. It'll be heaving this weekend (long weekend in Spain) and they've only just opened. I'd say fingers crossed the kitchen and waiters can cope except I'm not driving, so I'll be able to fill in the delays with another glass of something or other...

Plus it's the Christmas and olive oil fair in the village this weekend. Will probably go along to that early evening. Won't buy any olive oil, though. Although they're celebrating the new harvest, they'll probably be selling last year's still.

                              Have a great day, everyone.
