Morning all.

Hope you managed to drop back off, GF.

Rain and storms all day today and tomorrow, apparently. Fingers crossed the rain isn't too bad today as Mr Snoop has more blood tests first thing tomorrow morning and don't want to be driving through a swamp. Also, better go and get a bit of firewood in as night time temps are due to fall too. Feeling very unsupplied for firewood this year. Still waiting for our usual man to say if he will be coming this year. I imagine so... Fingers crossed.

Other than rain preparations, some domestics and paid work for today. But before that, a walk with Jack. I'll make toast when I get back from the walk to go with CG's tea and coffee.

Me too. He did complain about our top terrace being impassable. I've got used to it, but he is right. Herb fennel has taken over this year and is easy 2 m tall now. I'll be sorry next year when I try and deal with it...

Morning

Snoop it's taken ages to control the Herb fennel at the bottom of our garden, its down to one main plant now but seedlings pop up everywhere. It seemed such a good idea to grow it at the time.

Good morning all.

I did eventually drop to sleep, sometime between 3am and 4am. I woke up at 7am, turned the thermostat up, and the next thing I knew, it was 10am. At least I refrained from "Internet shopping", unless you count taxing the car.

I love the smell of Fennel. For some reason, I always associate it with mediterranean sunshine, even though I've grown it in not so sunny Yorkshire.

I do like bacon, eggs and tomatoes every so often but I only have it for breakfast if I'm staying in a hotel, and even then only if the continental breakfast isn't brilliant. Normally breakfast at home is coffee and more coffee. I will make an all day breakfast later in the day though occasionally. All my breakfasts are compared to one I had back in the early 80's in a nice hotel in London. A company that I fancied working for were holding job interviews there. I'd taken the overnight sleeper (milk) train from Yorkshire. When I arrived at King's Cross I decided to make my way to somewhere nearer to the hotel before looking for breakfast. The guard, on the train, had already delivered tea and coffee to all the sleeping compartments, so I felt halfway human. There was nowhere nearby to get breakfast when I got off the tube so I wandered into the hotel and asked the maître d' if breakfast was available for non-residents. It was, and at a very reasonable price. There was everything available. The best selection of Danish pastries I'd ever tasted, gorgeous meats and cheeses, a myriad of fruit, amazing bread, and of course, all kinds of hot food cooked to order. Gallons of wonderful coffee included. I was nearly late for my interview. I got the job, subject to a medical, and I got reimbursed for my travel expenses and breakfast. A few weeks later I had to travel down again for the medical in Harley Street, not at all what I expected, I made a special detour for breakfast.

It's dry here now so I think I'll risk putting the washing out.

Afternoon

Lovely and sunny here in the back garden, out of the front door in the shade I’d need my coat.

A mix of gardening, laundry and cooking, just now we’re sat out reading pretending it’s summer.

We have Bren, so I've been tidying tubs in the garden. It was nice in the sun, but pretty cool otherwise and it's decidedly cold now. I've just spent some time looking for recipes for cooked apples now my freezer is full of them again.

Pouring with rain and I've got to get Mr Snoop to the health centre on time. Should be an interesting drive along the dirt track...

Not the most productive weekend, but had a good time with Mr Snoop, so no regrets. Better make up for it this week, though.

We also shared your sunshine Bren, we sat out later when we got home until the sun went. Certainly goes cool then. Just 3 degrees this morning so I think another hat and gloves walk,

No plans for today apart from sorting out my craft room especially the desk its full of clutter . so todays to the day.
