Removed a paving slab from my patio, dug over the soil underneath, made a mini-raised bed there from half an old plastic dustbin with the bottom cut out, and planted my potted persimmon tree in it.
It dropped it's leaves early last year, so I was a bit concerned, but the buds seem to be swelling, so I think it should be okay.

Growing a luffa in it would be appropriate...!
Can you find an old towel rail to put next to it?

Crossed my fingers and planted my International Kidney potatoes. A bit early, even for here, but worth the risk. I'll just have to fleece them if we get a hard frost.

Quick trip to plot to check it was still there, and to take some compostings.
Then an afternoon sowing seeds in the greenhouse - onions, leeks, sprouts, broccoli, 60-day raab, beetroot and two sorts of carrots. Hooray!

I am a seed hoarder and I still have a shoebox stuffed with surplus seed packets. They will be picked through by a few friends but mostly will end up at a local charity shop - they are all good, unopened and in date. The only danger is that I go back in and try to buy some of them back - my seed hoarding is a serious disorder!
