  • We've just had lasagne and garlic bread.

    I'm thinking mince pies now. Mine will have an addition of brandy cream.

    • All change. Tortilla and salad. I've succeeded in leaving the pastry in the freezer. But mince pies this weekend for sure.

        • Just got the pork joint scored, salted and starting to cook when I get a text to say that the kids aren't coming because daughter has a dicky tummy. Oh well, I'll just do fewer veg.

            • Try again for the baked mushroom rice. Pea and spinach fritters on the side. Mince pies for afters.

              • I've taken Bay scallops out of the freezer. Either a Coquilles St Jacques type creation with piped mash around the edge or no mash but garlic bread instead.

                Mince pies again with a dollop of brandy cream.

                • We had the scallops with the mashed potato last night.

                  Tonight I'm thinking some of the frozen cocktail sausage rolls with some salad of some kind.

                        • Lunch went from two to ten according to Mr Snoop (veg soup then a piece of Christmas pud with a bit of cream and a drizzle of thick advocaat by way of custard , followed by coffee with the last of the cream and a small glug of whisky).

                          Supper guacamole on brioche toast.

                          • I think it's a soup sort of day. Either mushroom OR tomato and aubergine. I think there's a rather sad looking aubergine skulking in the bottom of the fridge so I ought to use it up.
