Just got the pork joint scored, salted and starting to cook when I get a text to say that the kids aren't coming because daughter has a dicky tummy. Oh well, I'll just do fewer veg.

I've taken Bay scallops out of the freezer. Either a Coquilles St Jacques type creation with piped mash around the edge or no mash but garlic bread instead.
Lunch went from two to ten according to Mr Snoop (veg soup then a piece of Christmas pud with a bit of cream and a drizzle of thick advocaat by way of custard , followed by coffee with the last of the cream and a small glug of whisky).
I think it's a soup sort of day. Either mushroom OR tomato and aubergine. I think there's a rather sad looking aubergine skulking in the bottom of the fridge so I ought to use it up.
