        Fantastic harvest.
Anytime they are big enough and still shiny is good for harvest. Aubergines are always eaten when still botanically under-ripe.
I used to be quanglewangle. It's a long story

        • Now I can see it on my PC - they look great Simon. Most of ours have been quite small this year.

          • But, SimpleSimon, the pinky one is a baby, right? Think we were born yesterday?

I’ve never had any luck with aubergines until I put them on a wicking system last year. Seems to work very well with them. I get tons from 5 plants.

I think that may be over-ripe, or in botanical terms, ripe.
Any sign they may have been loosing their shine, or any browning around the seeds?

The solanine content goes up as they ripen.

That would explain it - Thanks FF

What are your favourite ways to cook or recipes for enjoying this yummy veggie?

                              Favourite ways for us -
Griddled and topped with goats cheese - link to earlier post on this thread

Baba Ganoush is good but uses lots of aubergines
Or as in the pic below, scored and drizzled with a mix of olive oil, hot chilli, garlic and sea salt and oven roasted (fan oven 180 degs) for about 30 mins
