  • I just found and thoroughly enjoyed my first ripe Victoria Plum, how I love this time of year
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs! https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...lies/smile.gif

                      • Gathered all my onions from the allotment today. I think I grew too many...
I've "processed" (cut the roots off, rubbed off loose skin, and tied in bunches of 6-8) the first two-thirds or so, and that already amounts to 10kg of onions. I'm going to have over 30kg by the time I weigh them all.
How long do onions usually keep?

                        Also, more plums.
                        And some tenderstem broccoli.

                        • The very first of our French beans!
Reduculously sweet. Makes you wonder why we buy them out of season in the supermarkets!!!

                            • Lovely big bag full of Climbing Beans and Runners, a Cucumber and some Pears. Later on I will get some Spring Onions and Beetroots.
All my lettuces bolted so that's my successional lettuce sowing out of the window. I have more growing and more just sown, in for a bit of a wait though...might be ready for when my tomatoes finally ripen!

                              • Being further north we are behind on most crops, even with a warmer(and wetter) summer than usual, still picking soft fruits, strawberries, raspberries and last of the currants, thornless blackberries are just starting to turn, but the wild ones are a couple of weeks away yet. Salad for today includes spring onions, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber, I must remember to take some pictures for the virtual show.
