A new person took over a rundown plot opposite mine a few weeks back. He discovered he had, under all the grasses, an entire bed of very late asparagus. He went to buy a wheelbarrow and when he got back someone had taken every single one. Guess who was there that afternoon? I told him who it is likely to be and he has joined me in handing in a second letter of complaint.

On the plus side, that asparagus tasted delicious.

Sounds like she is a real hard core thief.

Just as a matter of interest, how would one purposely infect a tomato plant with blight ?

You take your tomato with blight, rub it all over hers, then dampen the ground on shady days. Hey poncho, she's walking around crying into a hanky and you're in your shed cracking open a well deserved gin and tonic.

It would bring a whole new meaning to the phrase, "that blighter next door", wouldn't it !
Not that I am casting aspersions at the Queen of Quinces, no indeedly, no no.
I wouldn't even dream of suggesting that She of the G&T would be in any way connected to the plague of spiders suddenly infesting my house.
By the bye, I take back any supposed - purely humorous - blackmailish comments, and I have now got a horseshoe above my door. (I plant the rowan next week.)

Conkers in the corners of your rooms, Snohare - that's supposed to deal with spiders.

I know how to deal with the G+T though. Chin chin.
