Hope to do it this evening...maybe

Hazel,Originally posted by Hazel at the Hill View PostGreat idea - I wondered how you were going to treat the beds over winter.
Thanks - It worked well last year although it was much later as I did not get my plot till 24th November and I included a thick bed of straw which I lifted in the spring - the seaweed had almost all disappeared by then - I put the overwintered wet straw in a builder's bag and all but the top couple of inches has now become lovely black compost which I will also put on the 3 cleared beds.
4th bed was to be for next year's onions, carrots and beetroot but I need to decide where to put my overwinter onions which were very successful last year in my grandson's plot - I need more space

I think I will put them in the 4th bed along with garlic and shallots and use my grandson's plot for the spring sown carrots & beetroot and use one of my daughter's full beds for the spring planted onions - decisions, decisions
but at least it is better than earlier this year when all the spring sown/planted veg was getting thrown into whatever spare space had become available

I actually knew when I was taking the photo that YOU would have a cheeky comment VCOriginally posted by veggiechicken View PostYou sure you didn't buy those, Trip? The lids are the clue

I even thought about taking the lids off when taking the photo so as to deny you the opportunity
..But I wouldn't do that to you....not me!
I have nothing to hide....
.........apart from next weeks challenge which is my mystery challenge (obviously I know what it is
) that I will not reveal until Wednesday November 20th (this year)

VC - I may have to change my week 38 challenge - I had my brother down for 2 days Monday/Tuesday and my daughter has arranged a short break at Center Parcs for Friday-Monday so my seaweed collection time is limited to today and tomorrow so my challenge will be 'to collect as much seaweed as I can over next two days etc.' sorry
