Rants are both always and never pointless. This paradox is created by the fact that while they achieve nothing in the way of change, they function to dissipate the wrath of the ranter and thus prevent nasty explosions...

            • Oh bummocks!

Three pairs of cheapo holiday shoes arrived. One was the wrong size and two pairs were the correct size 4. Size 4's have to go back they are HOOGE.....two huge even for warm weather swollen feets. The incorrect size three are still a bit big, but will accommodate feets in hot weather (providing we ever get any) Annoyingly, this means that the cheap espadrilles I have also sent for will also be too big....

              Trip to PO tomorrow then....

              • looking increasingly unlikely I will get up plot at weekend due to snow. Even if Thurs and Fri are dry as forecasted, it's still going to be frosty so the snow will probably lie as plot is almost at top of hill.

Have 5 Morrisons fruit trees to go in
200 onion sets to go in
need to get tattie beds prepared

Came back from hol weekend before last and wend down Mum's last weekend to give me a clear run this weekend and looks like it's going to be no go.

                Huffy flump!

                • Ok. Don't get me started here.....

My in laws who, despite calling in for free eggs, have not even bought their grandson a birthday card. They didn't even wish him happy birthday.

And he knows his cousin, who was 19 last week, got £100 from them as she put it on FB. Bless him, he hasn't said a word. But I'm seething.....

                  • I'd say something to them, Jules. How ruddy rude and ignorant can they be!? Tell them, if they can't treat all their Grandchildren the same, then the bill for their eggs is £100.

                    • I've completely lost it with them in the past G4, but it's water off a duck's back. The kids don't have that much to do with them any more, and I don't think they have any respect for them. I try to see as little as possible of them, because I get very angry on behalf of the children and the BH, and it's just not worth it.

Happily, our children have not grown up resenting their idiot paternal grandparents and they love their cousins. My fab parents more than make up for the outlaws, who do resent the relationship that the children have with their other grandparents, but serves them right

                      • Yeah, you can't choose your family, can you!? Their loss, I know, but it's still not fair on the kids. How an adult can take their prejudices out on innocent kids, is beyond me.

                        • It was very hurtful, everyone coming to see our new baby but them, twice. And the years spent trying to make excuses for them - in the end we decided not to lie to the kids, why should we?

It was priceless, at #2's Christening when #1 (then aged 8) asked them, very loudly, why they didn't like the DD or himself and 'Are you going to be that silly over the new baby, Nanna?' The whole room heard and there was no way I was going to reprimand #1 for cheekiness - it was a valid question, I thought

It does help that the rest of the BH's side think they are completely crackers too.....anyway, "what you don't have, you don't have to say thank you for" as my Nan would've said.

Blimey....these people who chat on Rant Threads. Tut.

                          • Well I'm pretty ticked over your outlaws as well Jules. You GAVE them eggs? If it was me they'd be afraid to eat them JIC!

                            Still no farrier.

Payday - paid. For two weeks work. No 5 weeks holiday etc. owing to me. No, I have no idea, the manager told me to see HR support. HR support was meant to phone me back a week ago. Lovely.
Now worrying over 6 weeks on 2 weeks pay! No good asking other manager she won't answer any emails. She's just plain weird and rude. Even when you're gone they can make it hard.

                              • Just want to smack my head on a brick wall over these fricken useless farriers. I wouldn't care only its an animal, not a toy, so can't wait forever. It's just so bluddy frustrating. Now will have a horse with a 'history' of a hoof infection because there's not fricken person to trim his hooves when he needs it. Running screaming in the distance, and I'm not coming back!
