Creative or Crafty? Care to Share?

I'm in the process of quilting a double bed sized quilt for a family friend who's getting married in summer.

Is there no end to you talents Flumm ??

Thanks BIP - I'm quite pleased with it but there are always things to do differently next time.
I'm not sure about the pattern change at the top any more but far too late now as it's all sown.

Lizzy if you have time why don't you give the pattern change section an extra twist? You could stitch on some extras in the white squares / rectangle - our local fabric shop has lovely flowers etc to stitch on. I always used to sow a bell on the corner to, but I know I'm dafter than the average bear.

Now that's a very nice idea - I could applique them on. Is that what you mean? We dont have very much sewing stuff round our way at all though. Still babies not due till tomorrow so I might have time to look online.....

thats extremely nice and looks like a lot of work. I'm really just cutting my teeth and in true Lizzy style not looking in books to find out how it's really done. Perhaps I should take a peak seeing yours.

(also cheat by getting my pre-cut squares off ebay. I've a stack of oblong cut fabric waiting for me to make it into a duvet cover, it's so expensive I'm a long way from having enough though).

My favs are my first 2 patchwork creations A freaky rabbit (was going well till his face turned out a mean looking - it's the button eyes I think) and the bedcover as I just ordered stacks of squares and pulled them off randomly and sewed them together.

But my real passion is pottery - as you can see my most loved pieces I've kept for my self

My daughter always says that wrapping herself up in a quilt is like me giving her a cuddle - so everyone has to have quilts! I love that!

Your rabbit is fab - but those eyes - they could use those in DR Who! LOL very true. I think it's the black cotton - I should have used the same colour as the actual buttons. It was all a bit seat of my pants tbh. I sewed the squares into an oblong and then laid the rabbit pattern over the top and then just started cutting - it was a real yikes time. Luckily it worked

Well this is my latest project now finished.

Ive named it 'Great Expectations' because in my head I envisioned the 1st wardrobe after all my hard work but the reality was a little different!

I think I may have suffered illusions of grandure at some point lol .

Stills, it's an originals 50's piece and kept me busy for a few hours (all hand stripped, sanded etc) and it should look nice (I hope) in minimes room once we get a house!

I feel your pain, I gave sanding and waxing an old 40's wadrobe a go, I gave up halfway because it was so much work.
