Good job I didn't delete that thread or Snadger's poem would have been into the ether......[I really don't want to be a pedant, but IF was written after Victoria's death]

You are, of course, absolutely right. I was trying to highlight the Victorian attitude of self-restraint towards emotion that the poem evokes rather than the specific era.
I probably could have worded it better, but wanted to keep it short.
Director of Poetry seems like a pretty big title, we like to keep executives focused on smaller projects at Ollietopia Inc.

I purposefully didn't do today's word in the hope that someone else would do one.
Good word, I'll have it used in the next 5 minutes (hopefully)

                        Nicely done Ollie!

I wish I had had that moment before they ended the offer! I could have got them ordered on behalf of my Nan and Grandad (and all their neighbours) as they were free in their area. By the time I got round to checking it was ok with them (and a couple of their neighbours!) the offer was over.

Still, managed to get one yesterday on freecycle!

                            Ok word for today:
This is one my Oh stumbled upon whilst looking up a different word in my son's dictionary.
He has been gleefully criticising our neighbours cupidity ever since.

                            Cupidity:

1 : inordinate desire for wealth : avarice, greed
                            2 : strong desire : lust

Wonder what gems you guys will come up with for this one.
