      • Morning
Hi lottie, sorry you've been struggling with health a bit though.

Bit stressed lately but was nice to get in the gh yesterday. Just watched the masterchef final and skipping our walk this morning, doggy is very limpy and clingy. She is snuggled beside me now.
I need to nip for some shopping this morning though.

        • Mornin n’alln’all
          crikey….no wind…no rain…no hail… no frost…no sun…just grey and damp. I can work with that!

OH needs to nip into town for a couple of things so I’ve decided to go with him ..not that we need anything but there are a few things I can get done there to save a trip next week…(and petrol!)Might as well top up with petrol too. The cost is heartbreaking for those of us in rural settings where most things are 1/2 - 1hr away. I guess commuters must feel the same way too.

OH made hotXbuns yesterday evening so we munched our way through one each just before bedroom. Absolutely delish…interestingly Merry Berry suggested warm golden syrup rather than warm apricot jam as a glaze. What do other people generally use? Buttering the top was a tad tricky…and I wouldn’t want to pop one in the toaster for sure! ( or was OH a bit heavy handed with t?)

Best get a wiggle on…lots to do before the shops close in town Anyone fancy me getting anything for them in whilst I’m out?

          Have a great day!

                      • Morning all.

What a lovely girl Pearl is. Hope she perks up soon, CG.

Looks like I didn't post yesterday. Thought I had. Anyway, we had the day out for an initial round of corticosteroid jabs for Mr Snoop. Fingers crossed they give him some relief. Petrol prices are really varied here, Nicos. Managed to get a good deal yesterday at a big Auchan supermarket, only just over 1.50 euros a litre (unleaded 95), which is now a total bargain. What are they charging in France these days? Our local garage in the village is up to 2 euros a litre now.

While out, we visited the local nursery/garden centre and bought a couple of trees in pots (greengage and Gala apple). Normally I buy bare roof trees, but these are so much better formed already. We'll go in Mr Snoop's car next time, as it's bigger, and buy a few more.

Glad to hear your OH is back to her normal self, Rary. But sorry to hear about your assorted op delays. Fingers crossed they call you back soon.

And last but definitely not least, so good to see you back, LD. Sorry to hear about your back, but must be a relief to know your chest X-ray was clean. Take care in the garden, no accumulating more wear and tear on existing wear and tear.

                        Have a great day, everyone.

                        • Morning all.

It's drizzly here and set in for the day I think, so I'm getting on with domestics indoors.

Glad you're posting again Lottie, hope you get your health problems sorted so you can get on with the garden. It's very frustrating when you can't do as much as you would like to do, and all those jobs that took us half an hour in our twenties now take a couple of hours with a sit down between.

                            • Good morning all, bright and sunny but still very breezy

CG, what a beautiful dog, and a lovely shiney coat.

Lottie, pace yourself, we are still young in our head, but our body tells us otherwise.

Hope MR Snoop gets some pain relief and continues to improve.

Reading all the posts today it seems to me we are all turning into crocks....onward and upward..
                              Have a good day all.

On the HX buns I made I used 25g caster sugar warmed in 2 tablespoons of milk until the sugar dissolved. I painted it twice over the buns as it is thin of course. It doesn't give a rich glossy shine, like jam or syrup, but it has dried to a non-sticky finish and still adds sweetness to the bun.
