Your hair looks nice, Flo. .
Thanks MH I’ll give that a go, they can’t turn out any worse. Other option was to try frozen berries.

      • afternoon, that cut suits you FF,That sounds like a plan Mothawk with any fruit,
I have spent this afternoon looking, even to see if another model will fit,i can get the main large one, both second hand and new ,but the lower fog one seems not about,if only my sons was on speaking terms each, will ring the younger one later on,he will know more, and yes my confidence is a bit knocked,i feel shame in case i get stopped by the fuzz,i try NOT to drive in the dark as the lights are to bright,my cateracts are slowly devoloping, but i am very ok to drive i have been tolled,i also only go where i am confident with the sat nav,or MR directing me,today he said it was not good ather vehicles cutting ME up,1 large white van was even reversing out a junction did not look,if i had not nearly stopped and hung on hooter he would have,i was only a few feet from said junction and out he shot, fast not slow, after he hung right back from me and dissapeared, must go consult the cupboards ext to see whats for tea, decisions, decisions, about time a pill was invented, save on the shopping as well

        • Morning all.

No rain! Well, for this morning if we're lucky. Thereafter, between now and the end of the month, a few days of drizzle, more days of heavy rain and possibly a day of snow. Cold temperatures. Not sure the ground can absorb much more water at the moment... We've had ducks in one of our small fields in the past. Don't think they'll hang around long with Jack about if they return. Shame. I liked seeing them. Our other dogs let them be, too sensible to go around galumphing up to their oxters in sludgy mud. Jack is not a sensible dog.

Not much other news. Got a pair of sourdough loaves about to start their second rise. Mr Snoop will be giving those to people who have helped us recently. In between keeping an eye on them, I've got plenty of work to be getting on with.

Cyberhugs to them as wants them.

          Have a great day, everyone.

Frozen berries in the batter will turn it blue unless you are very quick to get it into the pan, they thaw fast, but you can drop frozen berries onto the batter in the pan.

Just had to break off to pay the window cleaner. It's set to rain for the rest of the day so that was a bit of wasted effort, but as they say, it all makes work for the working man to do.

                • Good morning.

Back to the "normality" of an awful night's sleep!

I've already made myself a coffee, in fact I think I'm just about due a refill. I'll turn the thermostat up this time as somehow I forgot last time.

Mr GF has just woke up, which is surprising considering that he has been awake for most of the night too!

He's got a nurses visit this afternoon.

I hope you don't get as much rain as forecast, Snoop. It doesn't seem too long ago when you had drought!

                  • Good morning all, it's raining here as well and the forecast is not great.
I don't even mind the rain do much as the grey skies,so depressing.
We need to go out today to collect a wedding anniversary gift and then deliver it.
Not a lot else on the cards other than domestics, so I will struggle on with my jigsaw.
                    Have a good day all.

                        • As the rain set in for the day I decided to clean the oven. When I tried to light it on Sunday (it's gas) there was no gas getting through. The rings and small top oven/grill worked fine but the main oven was dead, so I hoped a good clean might fix it.

Once I'd done that, I got the torch, got my head in the oven () and had a look at the thingummybob and the doofy-loofy thing that makes the gas flow and keeps it alight. Couldn't see anything damaged or crusted but I got a cloth and gave it all a gentle wipe.

Joy! When I tried turning it on it worked once more. Happy dance because I plan on having a new kitchen this year and really didn't want to spend money having an aging cooker fixed.

                            • Pre-mornin n’alln’all

I’ve just made a brew if anyone fancies one? ( saves you getting out of bed!)

Sorry not to have been around…had a few health issues to sort out, but also…really sadly, we have had to have Hibou put to sleep
She took a massive turn for the worse last night and there was no hesitation that she needed be relieved of her pain.
Needless to say we are devastated ,even though we knew this could happen at any moment.

We have her home with us and will bury her tomorrow in the wildlife section of our field…next to an oak sapling we grew from an acorn a few years ago.
We’ll walk past her every time we go to the potager and can say hi. It was her favourite area for catching voles and mice and is in full sun…so a lovely resting place.
Needless to say , the house feels so empty. I guess it’ll take us some time to adjust.
Please raise a glass or mug to her today - she was such a sweetie.

I best see if I can get back to sleep with my tummy full of nice hot tea.

I'm so sorry to hear about Hibou 😪 she had a wonderful life with you and you definitely have given her the very best care in life and her resting life. They are family and it's devastating to lose a member, feel your pain. Sending a gentle warm hug and I will have a mug of tea with you and raise it to Hibou.
