There's been flooding already here, roads are bad. Didn't think it was that heavy tbh but the ground is already saturated.

Good afternoon, lots of rain and gusting winds, I have just put on the central heating, just as a precaution incase the power goes off, that way we will have some heating in the house, other wise we may have to go into bed to keep warm!!!! back in a minute just going to put the heating off
,
Having difficulty just sitting about doing nothing, so might do as some of you are doing and get a jigsaw out, I find setting up a jigsaw quite easy, after all you just look for all the bits with with a straight side for the outside and of course there will be 4 with two straight bits at right angle to one another, I seem to manage to get jigsaws finished quit quickly, the last one took me just over a week and it said 4 to 8 years so pleased with thag
Time to go, keep safe if you are faced with the high winds and heavy rain and no matter what you have find something to smile about, them pass it on

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Evening all.
I don't have any jigsaws, except on the computer, so as I'm hoping to get the loft emptied so I no longer have to wobble on the stepladder, I decided to get all the C decorations out and go through them to try and thin down the number of boxes I have (6 at present, duvet boxes mostly, so quite large). I got them all down, put the ladder away, then just sat and stared at the boxes for a good quarter of an hour. I finally decided sorting through could wait till the tree goes up in two months, squeezed the boxes into the cupboard at the top of the stairs, and read a book instead.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Like the rest of you I do the sides/corner pieces first, depending on the puzzle next sort by anything that stands out lettering, people, wheels, animals, buildings finally the rest are organised by colour.
No domestics here today Nicos only doing the dishes, its good to have a day doing just hobbies.
stay safe and enjoy your evening

Morning all.
The rain has gone but it's still very windy, though not as bad as north of the border apparently. Hope all of you up there stay safe and have not had any damage to property or plants.
Time for a cuppa now before some domestics. I need to go to the library, but apart from that, an indoor day I think.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Mornin n’alln’all
Well…rather than turning off the rain and wind, it looks like you’ve sent it to me!
Happy to help out though.
Still - more than plenty to get on with indoors I guess.
No real plans for today - or tomorrow for that matter.
The heating engineer contacted us yesterday as he’s inundated with work. Do we have hot water and some heat at least?…yes….so he’s coming on Tuesday instead.
He’s prioritised us previously because we had clients staying, but we don’t at the moment so we suggested that it’s someone else’s turn to be prioritised…..fair enough eh?
Hope no one has major side effects from the storm?
Enjoy your day peeps…and remember to share those smiles x"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good morning,
I've had an awful night's sleep! I feel shattered. It's 9°C and raining heavily. The wind has dropped a bit, I think. It was howling in the night. I've turned the thermostat up, and I'm awaiting results now.
Back again. I'm up and about and watching James Martin while drinking coffee now.
I should be going round to visit my brother in law this morning, but Mr GF is quite wobbly, and the weather is atrocious ........so maybe not.
With all the chat about jigsaws, I wonder if anybody doesn't do the sides first. I remember once doing a circular jigsaw many years ago. As it was a map of the world there was a lot of just plain blue sea.
I think that I was wrong about the wind calming down. It's blowing a hooley now. There is a carpet of leaves on the ground and the leaves remaining on the trees are slowly changing colour. The postman has just been, in a van today instead of on foot, and brought Mr GF an early birthday card from one of my sisters and her partner.

Afternoon
It was wild in the night, amazed the power stayed on. Seems to have been worse yesterday than today which had been forecast the other way around. Its still very windy. Have stewed some apples and plums with cloves/cinnamon flavours and honey. I use it with my morning porridge/fruit/yoghurt combo. House smells nice but will blend into curry later
I've got the washer on, washed some manky dog toys and OHs work stuff. Won't bother putting them out, might blow off.
OH is doing something with the car, now what shall I do next
