    • Oh my goodness, Lottie. Toothache is bad enough, but on top of everything else it must be really grim. Fingers crossed the antibiotics give you some relief quickly.

Love the Marge Simpson voice comment. Well done you for keeping a sense of humour. Me, I'd be Mrs Miserable.

      • Morning all.

Going to be another hot one today. Slight possibility of a storm this afternoon. Rain would be marvellous...

Not much other news. Frankie still keeping a cautious distance, but coming round in the mornings and evenings to eat in the garage. And Jack is starting to respond to basic commands fairly reliably. And given that he'll be just two months old tomorrow, looks like he could grow into a good dog. Phew! Always a worry when you take on a dog with unknown parents who's had a difficult start.

        Right, on with the show.

        Have a great day, everyone.

        • Morning all.

Much cooler today, it's only 17C right now and a very pleasant breeze blowing through the house. It will be nice not to have all the blinds and curtains drawn. I was beginning to be fed up with a dark house!

Glad to hear Frankie hasn't abandoned his home, Snoop. Cats can sometimes be so pernickerty when things disturb their routine. Two of the cats I've had over the years were relocators - one moved in with us because her owner got a new puppy, and another later when her owner had a baby. I have to say I don't think either owner was particularly attached to their cat so they were not much missed.

            • Morning

We had a few drops of rain yesterday then a bit overnight not enough to make a difference though.

When we moved into this house the previous owner was only moving around the corner and to deter his cat he left us with a water bottle sprayer and a warning to keep a certain bedroom window closed. We had a Fox terrier at the time and concerned especially if the cat had come indoors, luckily the cat only came around a couple of times.

Hope you soon get some relief Lottie xx

              • Mornin n’alln’all

Cooler here, breezy and rolling trip under getting nearer.
Just checked, and we have yet another storm coming in
No coloured warnings- which is a relief cos it’s quite a palaver putting up anti hailstone protection…so much so it’s actually making me rethink what and where we’ll grow things next year. What with that AND sunshades!

Think I’m going to have to unplug the router!

                  • Good morning.

It's overcast and drizzly here at the moment. It still feels a bit clammy and sticky but much cooler than a couple of days ago.

                    .......

A break there while I made coffee/tea and cereal. The drizzle has got a bit heavier, and I'm letting in as much of the cool air as possible. It feels wonderful and refreshing.

I need to go pick up my prescription later and pop in and see my brother in law. I'm thinking that I could try and time my visit to coincide with his lunchtime carer to see if what my brother in law says is true, about unpalatable cups of tea and negligable English, or if he is exaggerating. If he is not exaggerating I shall be complaining as there really should be some basic minimum standards. He actually pays for a two course hot meal to be delivered every weekday lunchtime so there is no need for any kind of food preparation by the "carer".... just a proper cup of tea! The food deliverers are from a local community centre and are really nice. I have bumped into them on many occasions.

I think I'll go put a croissant in the air fryer for Mr GF now and have another coffee.

                      • Suddenly lots of rain here!!!!
Very happy, but I guess it’ll be short lived. Still any rain is better than none, and I’m loving hearing the thunder rattling around the valley.

Lottie…thank goodness for your very positive attitude..and for your man…he sounds really caring- just who you needed in reality.
I’m sure you spoil him rotten when you can,so you sound like you make a lovely couple.
Your mouth problem seems to be going on and on….at what point might you be referred to an ENT dept/ specialist ?

GF,… Hope you get to the bottom of the carers duties?…do they have a specific list which they have to stick to?
My MIL had private carers after her free few weeks and they had a list of jobs…and absolutely nothing else…including not bringing the clothes washing downstairs…washing up her breakfast things…scrubbing a burnt pan. You know…all the things which ought to be common sense help. Probably insurance led?

Right, so…..I need more room in the freezers…anyone fancy a lemon and raspberry sorbet cornetto or a chocolate and vanilla one?
Please feel free to rub them on your thighs

                        • Cooler here today too thank goodness (never happy with the weather are we lol). Not convinced we'll have any rain in our forecast until Saturday though so OH will be making a trip to the plot to throw some water around on his way home from work.

Maybe a multivitamin might help a little bit Lottie? B, C & D are the go-to for me when it comes to feeling better & encouraging healthy gums but A, E & Zinc are also helpful for fighting infections so an all-in-one ticks all the boxes. Check first of course (as Nico said, not a medical prof. so what the heck do I know really) but I'm thinking the worst case would be vitamin rich pee if not needed & maybe won't interfere with your current meds - but do check the latter!

Have I missed something here? I've heard of a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips ..... but going straight for the thighs. My mind has boggled.

Still sunny but much cooler it was good to be able to get out into the garden to weed, seed sow and give the veg area a good tidy up.

                                Enjoy your evening.
