  • Good evening, unfortunately I didnt get my wrist sorted after sitting for over two and a half hours I was taken through to the theatre, where after getting the wrist prepared and local anaesthetic administered they had to stop as my blood pressure shot up, dont know why as I definitely didnt feel anxious about it, I actually was looking forward to having it done so that I could get a nights uninterrupted sleep, eventually after several pressure tests a medical doctor came to check me out, again after checking my blood pressure and sounding me the doctor decided that she needed to get her senior doctor to come and check me, while waiting the nurse againg checked my pressure only to find it had dropped the lower end of normal, shortly after that the senior doctor came to see me, he also sounded me out, just as he had said " I think you are right" their emergency call alarm went off so they had to hurry away, then over an hour later the doctor phoned the nurse to let her know I could go home with a letter for my own doctor, so six and a half hours and nothing done, personally I think it was the sitting around doing nothing that caused the problem, OH says I go myself the next time as shes not waiting about like that again, it's just dawned on me OH and daughter went to a local GC where there are more clothes, jewellery and ornaments on sale than garden products and she was there with a bank card and I wasnt there to control her, no wonder I would be anxious, fortunately they only bought coffee and something to eat, well now have see my own doctor and get the blood pressure sorted , though as long as am with OH it will be fine, I can keep an eye on what she is spending have a good evening and keep smiling

      • Thanks for all your kind wishes everyone. A very up and down day. Some things are definitely improving, but it seems to be two steps forward and one step back.

I just hope tomorrow is a better day.

        • Sorry to hear your op was delayed rary. Hopefully the bp was a random blip & you get a new appointment soon. Some nurses seem to have awful trouble getting a consistent read off me - usually the electric machines don't like me & they revert to an old skool cuff & stethoscope.

GF - think of it as a steady 1 step forward. Gradual but definitely in the right direction x

          • Very frustrating indeed Rary. Was it doing to be done under local anaesthetic?

            GF…thinking of you xx

All is calm here weather wise. Waterbutts overflowing. It was described as two supercells passing overhead.. Never heard that term before, but reading up on them, I think we came off lightly. Not one hailstone either. The ‘local’ news showed someone holding one hailstone over 5cm in diameter

            • I've just had 4 hours of heavy sleep, but I'm now wide awake again. I'm in the middle of watching a drama on ITVX. I think I'll try to watch some more of it on my phone in the hope that it makes me sleepy.

              • Mornin GF n’alln’all n’alln’all

Hope you managed to get back to sleep?

I woke up suddenly with hay fever and despite having an antihistamine me nozzle is still pouring
OH and his friend are going sea fishing today …thank goodness it wasn’t booked for yesterday!- so we’re off in a sec as I’m driving them to their pick up point..

Me?…well, I’m planning on catching up with my ironing and putting everything we moved or covered back to normal outside again.
Fortunately it turned out it hadn’t been necessary but I’ve seen piccies on the internet posted by people 20 minutes away of shredded plants and lawns covered with unripe cherries, apples etc and leaves. I’m sure there will be many more piccies today

I hope no-one on the Vine has been badly affected by the weather/ flooding?

Right…best grab a box of tissues and head off!
See ya later- and enjoy your day peeps as best you can.

                • Morning all.

Sorry to hear about your blood pressure problem, rary. Hope that gets sorted out soon and the op can go ahead.

Sending you lots of cyber hugs, GF.

We got off very lightly yesterday, weatherwise, as the storm petered out before it got to us. Mind you, a bit of rain wouldn't have gone amiss. But very glad to have had no hail.

Not sure what the day holds, as that depends a bit on visitors. A nap is on the cards though.

                  Have a great day, everyone.

                      • Good morning all...after a lovely sunny day yesterday it's absolutely lashing rain this morning.

Rary, sorry to hear your op was postponed, what a waste of a day.

GF, hope you have a better day and things work out for you.

I thought it was going to be a gardening day, but the weather has changed my plans....domestics instead.
Enjoy the day whatever you're up to.

                        • My daughter just rang me in tears..Her lovely dog passed away in the early hours of this morning.
Her, and her family only got in from Spain last night and she was worried they wouldn't make it home in time to say goodbye.
The vet gave him 4 to 6 months but I thhink that was only six weeks ago.
She took him in when someone abandoned him and she had him for 11 years.

                          • Oh dear bramble. That really is sad news.

So glad though they got to see him before he died…those goodbyes are very important. I wonder if he hung on as long as he could for that last hug?
No doubt your heart is breaking too seeing your beautiful daughter breaking her heart.
I heard someone once say that the more your heart breaks when a pet passes, the more love you had opened into your heart .No wonder it hurts so much.

                            So sorry xxx
