Dull and damp here and taking a long time to get light.
Even Hibou has preferred to come and lay down next to the woodstove.

Off out later to take some pumpkin pie to some American friends. They’re not really celebrating Thanksgiving due to illhealth but I thought it’d be a nice gesture.

Interestingly , for me anyway, it didn’t have a soggy botty as it’s cooked on the bottom of the oven.

Apart from that, we might go on and do a grory hop - OH needs a new battery in his phone. Can’t imagine that’s going to be cheap
So we’ll be near the hypermarkets anyway…

A breezy morning but the sun is trying to come out.
I think I am going to pop into town, I am looking for a nice blouse.
We dont have as many large shops in the city as some of them closed down during covid.

Nicos, I will be interested to see how much the phone battery costs as my hubby needs one as well.

Grey and miserable here again.

Cu**ys have surpassed themselves. I ordered the HDD recorder thing on Tuesday with free standard delivery (not available instore). It has arrived this morning. It is now connected to the TV and the wifi and working. I have ended up with a few spare cables and a spare DVD player now. The HDD recorder is also a DVD, CD and Blue ray player and has freeview+

Unbelievably the set up was so, so simple. Basically just putting in the password for the wifi and letting it do the rest. I was actually dreading unpacking it.

Bramble - it cost 59€ including vat for them to fit it. Not a genuine Apple battery but OH isn’t bothered about that. Took half an our to do and it came 65% charged. We had a bit of a panic incase it wasn’t charged enough for him to pay by phone!

gf….that’s fantastic news! What model did you decide to go for in the end?

Good afternoon, I'm sticking to afternoon at this time even though it's getting dark, OH had a bit of a bad night last night, I think due to her pushing a shopping trolley around a shop yesterday, she couldn't get it to go on a straight line which I think caused her to twist her body a bit, and that lead to her hip getting painful, however she still wanted to go out this morning for the coffee morning, so definitely improving, once home I made the lunch then prepared veg to make soup in the slow cooker, after which I was out the back where I cut up a large branch which had been left from the next doors tree cutting, my I think all my cabbages have been damaged, I was hoping some would be OK but now have my doubts, I also noted that my neighbour had covered the tops of the trees with some plastic, so now, wondering if this is to stop the frost getting in and possibly stop any growth, will have to wait and see, right need Togo and start preparing the tea, hope you all have a restful evening, keep smiling

I still can't believe it was so easy to set up. The old one was also Panasonic and has given us years of good service. I've still left it in situ as we might want to watch some of the things we've recorded to it and it can do that no problem.

Mr GF wasn't really convinced that we really needed a new one (Yorkshireman.....short arms, long pockets). Now we've got the new one however he is convinced. His main comment is, "I can't believe that picture".

Ours is Samsung Galaxy so a popular make and shouldn't be a problem.

Spent most of the day in town which was extremely busy.
Got a nice pair of trousers and 3 blouses, two of which were reduced.
Bought another Dr Suess book for my grandson, I am gradually building up a collection for him, he loves them.
Got him Minecraft pyjamas and slippers as well.
Very happy with my days shopping.

Since coming back from the Grory hop it’s been wet and windy. Nothing done outside apart from getting some lettuce from the GH. I did catch up on domestics then reading.

No idea why I’m wide awake- but I am…so ‘Good Morning!’

Been down and made myself a couple of mugs of tea ( well, one can be for OH if he wakes up)
Hibou, typically has decided it’s too early to be going out. Well, it’s pretty cold out there so I don’t blame her.

No plans for today although I want to get on with more sewing. I’ve made the zipped under covers for two of the five pieces of mattress/seats- the next ones should be easier. Then comes the main covers which I’ll probably Velcro. I’d still rather be gardening, but needs must….
It’s a pity we’re due heavy frosts. My geraniums are still in flower as are my roses, both with lots of new flower buds. As are the nasturtiums and English marigolds. I’ll pick some today.

Anyone got plans for this weekend?
On Sunday is the main Xmas Fair I usually have a stall at ( not doing any this year) so it might be nice just to go and say hi to the other regulars there and check out what they’re selling.
